Things had changed between Ben and Joe ever since the filming for Bohemian Rhapsody was wrapped up. They had fun staying in hotels together while doing interviews but once Ben had to stop to film something else, everything changed
Ben seemed closer to Gwilym since they both lived in the UK so it was easier for them to see each other. While Rami and Joe were closer because of them both being in America. Joe loved being with Rami, he was his best friend and had been for years now but he missed his boyfriend, you know?
Joe decided to fly out to the UK to stay with Ben for the week but, things weren't same as it was.
Ben greeted Joe at the airport with a huge smile, he did miss his boyfriend after all. Joe practically threw himself at Ben but was careful not to kiss him because the paparazzi just had to be there. You never know who's taking pictures of you. So he just settled with a tight hug that Ben quickly melted into
"I've missed you so much" Joe beamed at Ben, controlling himself from kissing him or doing anything physically with him
"So have I" Ben gave him a little nose scrunch
Ben had driven to airport to pick Joe up so they could have some private time instead of getting in a taxi and still having to control themselves. Once they were both in the car Ben had turned on the radio, he never did that, Ben had told Joe in the past he only put the radio on to fill the silence or awkwardness
"Hey, why did you put the radio on?" Joe chuckled a little not to come across as aggressive
"Oh sorry" Ben turned the radio down instead of completely off "Just a habit because Gwil loves listening to the radio"
"He does?" Joe questions
"Yeah, he genuinely likes listening to adverts as well, he's proper weird" Ben laughed but Joe didn't see it as that funny so he just gave a small chuckle again
Joe placed his hand on Ben's thigh while he was driving as he'd usually stir in his seat to show he doesn't have a boner but this time he did nothing and continued driving like nothing
"How's things been without me?" Joe asked, starting a conversation to fill the void of nothingness
"Oh it's been...different I guess. I've been spending more time by myself which I'm really liking. I feel like I've never really been able to be alone with myself ever since we started filming Borhap, you know?" Ben told Joe. Joe was a little confused though. Before they started dating, Ben always said how he hated spending time by himself because he felt alone but ever since they started dating he's wanted more time alone. It's almost like he didn't want him there
"Yeah I get what you mean" was all Joe said instead of confronting Ben
"And I've been able to spend more time with Gwilym which is-" Ben started but was cut off by Joe's loud sigh at the mention of Gwilym
"Something wrong?" Ben asked
"No it's just, I miss Gwil" Joe lied, he hated when Ben would talk about Gwil. Yes, he was his friend but Ben and Gwil always seemed close, how were able to physically get any closer in friendship?
"Oh we can invite Gwil if you-"
"No." Joe cut Ben off once again, Joe quickly realised the speed at which he answered that question "I want this time to just be me and you"
Joe then brought his hand up to cup Ben's face which he knew he loved, Joe kind of just stared at Ben for a few seconds while the car was in complete silence except for the soft music playing from the cars radio
