Bake-Off. 2

Chapter 7,

Part two of the previous bit.

Alex's jaw drops at the scene,

James is sitting next to George, with a shocked expression on his face, George is awake now, but just dazed and completely out of it.

"Alex, George was burning up so I just checked to see if he had a tshirt on underneath, and he did so I took off his jumper to cool him down, but what is this." James explains as he points to George's arm.

"Fuck" is all Alex can let out,

"That's all?" James questions,

"James, I knew about it already" Alex sighs,

"Why didn't you tell anyone Alex?"

"He asked me not to, and I was helping him, it was a one time mistake he made when something bad had happened" Alex explains,

"Well what happened?"

"I cant tell you..."

James sighs,

"Fair enough, now just hand me the water" James says as Alex gives him the water for George.

After 5 minutes George claims he's now feeling fine,

He puts the jumper back on and re-enters the kitchen.

"I'm all good don't worry" George says to Will and Theo.

"Alright...so are we ready to review the bakes then?" Theo says, trying to lighten the mood.

"Yes" George smiles

Everyone's stuff had been reviewed, except for Alex's,

(Ik he goes first in the actual video but this is just for the chapter)

"Okay Alex, let's see" Theo says,

Alex shows his tart and Theo gags,

"I fucking hate jam" Theo states, laughing

"Yeah so Theo told me specifically to make nothing with jam so I replaced the jam in my Victoria sponge with biscoff, and gave you a huge jam tart" James laughs

"You set me up for failure?" Alex asks, making it seem like he was amused when in reality it kind of stung to have been put up to fail like that.

It was embarrassing.

"He did" Will laughs

Alex cant help but feel hurt, he still tries to keep up his funny bit though.

"Why are you giving it I'm not trying it!" Theo laughs

"Eat it!, I made this for him!" Alex laughs as he looks at Theo and then the camera.

After Theo refuses to eat it, Alex just throws it away.

The videos done recording and the guys give George a pat on the back, reminding him he did good today.

Will drives them all home, dropping James off first, leaving George and Alex last.

They enter their flat and both sit down on the couch,

"What a day" George says, not noticing Alex's sad expression,

Alex feels a tear fall, he quickly wipes it in an attempt to not let George see it,

He fails,

"Al? What's wrong?" George asks, scooting closer to Alex, putting his arm around his shoulder to comfort him.

Alex gets butterflies at the gesture,

"I'm being so dramatic" he laughs through the tears,

"You're probably not, what happened?"

"It's just James setting me up for embarrassment, kind of hurt" Alex admits.

"Yeah it wasn't very nice of him, but at least  you still tried and made something, even if Theo hated it." George says, rubbing up and down Alex's arm.

Alex puts his head on George's shoulder and sighs,

"Yeah, you're right"

"Do you wanna just chill out and watch a movie?" George asks

"Yeah okay"

They chose to watch Luca,

They laugh at some scenes, eventually George falls silent, focused on the movie, Alex doesn't mind though.

And through the whole movie, they didn't move from the position they started in,

George with his arm around Alex, who had his head on George's shoulder.

After the movie ended, Alex had noticed George fell asleep and that's why he was silent.

Alex doesn't want to wake him, mostly because he looks cute sleeping but also he'd feel bad considering how tired George is.

Alex taps George gently on the shoulder, waking him,

"Hm?" George mumbles, tired, he starts to run his fingers through Alex's hair.

"Movies over, we should go to sleep" Alex yawns.

"Oh, okay"

George stretches, moving his arm from around Alex,

Alex cant lie he misses George's arm being around him already.

They get up and start walking towards their rooms,

As Alex turns to go towards his own room, George grabs him by his arm,

Rubbing his eye, still tired, George says :

"I know this is gonna sound weird, but I'm anxious, and I don't think I wanna be alone tonight, I won't sleep" George yawns

"You want me to sleep in your room?" Alex asks

"Yeah"

Alex goes into his own room for a moment to change into pyjamas (just a tshirt tbh)

He goes into George's room,

"Do you want me to get my duvet? So I can make a bed on the floor?" Alex asks

"Alex just sleep in my bed you idiot" George says, already in the bed.

Alex feels his face go red,

He agrees nervously, because they've never shared a bed together.

He gets in the left side of the bed, as George is on the right.

After about ten minutes George is already half asleep,

Alex was on the brink of falling asleep when he feels George move over to his side of the bed,

Alex wants to say something, Incase it wasn't intentional and George just forgot he was there,

But as he turns around to face George,

George pulls Alex close, so Alex's head is resting on George's chest,

George then proceeds to wrap his arms around Alex, his head resting on the top of Alex's head.

Alex, in a little bit of an uncomfortable position, wraps his arms around George too, putting one leg over George's.

They both have huge butterflies, and they can't see it because of how dark it is, but they're both blushing.

"Thanks for helping me today Alex" George says,

"No problem" Alex says, the words almost getting caught in his throat.

They both melt into each other's embrace and fall asleep.
