chapter 5

After my mom drops us off at the theme park we buy our bands that give us all day access to the rides. It's quite quiet considering it's a sunny day.

"Oh my god look at that one! Can we go on it guys please!" I grab Mason's hand and point to the ride with the big drop to our left. Alyvia and Mason agree. "I could just watch the bags on the bench."

"There's lockers you can rent for 50 cents don't be a pussy Teo!" Alyvia says nudging him in the side. We rush over to the line and the ride is done within 5 minutes. The best thing is the front is free and there's 4 seats. "Do you want to pay an extra dollar for pictures on the ride?" We get asked. I put down $4 so we all get a set each.

The order goes Mason, me, Alyvia and them Teo. Speaking of the poor boy he looks like he's about to throw up. "It's okay bud, you'll live." I say as our straps are secured. About a minute later the ride starts going.

Mason grabs my hand and doesn't look as brave as he did at the bottom. "I thought you said you'd be ok." He shook his head and closed his eyes tightly. "That's cause I didn't think it was going this high." I laugh and look over to the others.

Alyvia looks like she's having the time of her life and Teo is cursing profusely. "FUCK THIS MAN, THIS SHIT FUCKING SUCKS!!!" He makes the mistake of looking down and screams. "Don't be a baby Teo, you've been on worse rides." Alyvia says grinning.

The drop is a mere seconds away. I give one last glance to Mason then look forward with the biggest grin on my face. We plummet and we're all screaming. "NAH FUCK THIS IM GONNA DIE! IM FUCKING DYING!!" I can overhear Teo screaming, Mason grips my hand tighter and me and Alyvia are laughing.

There's two loops coming up and just as you start them, their pretty much over. We're tossed sideways by this ride. It finishes quickly after the loops and anyone who payed for pictures has to get off the ride at a different exit in order for the pictures to be quick.

We get to the desk where the pictures are. "Hey we were the ones at the front, do you mind if we get our pictures." I'm still smiling from the ride. The lady hands us out pictures and I can't help but laugh at them. "Oh my god we look so funny!" Alyvia states pointing at me and her in the middle. "I look like shit man." I laugh looking at Teo's face. He looks half dead and his mouth is wide open from screaming.

"Mason you look like you're asleep on the ride." He chuckles and looks at his part of the picture. "Oh my god I do!"
I grab our bags from the locker, take them out and put the pictures inside.
"Holy shit there's a ghost train! Let's go on that so Teo doesn't vomit everywhere on the next roller coaster." Alyvia suggests. We all agree and as were walking over Mason puts an arm round my shoulder.

"Mason, you realise we're in public, right? People are gonna see and put pics online." I whisper into his ear. In response he kisses my head. "Let them, we're just two teenagers living life right now. If the people see then they see it. No harm will be done." I nod my head as we catch up with Alyvia and Teo as they power walked to get to the line.

We again put our bags in this locker. "Why didn't we keep them in the last one again?" Teo asks trying to shove his shit into the locker. "Because that was was strictly for that ride. This one is for the whole park so we can keep them in there." He lets out a sigh of relief.

This ride is two seats per cart. Mason drags me on so I'm with him. Alyvia and Teo both put a hand on their chest and have an over dramatic shocked face. "I feel replaced Evelyn!" Alyvia states pretending to fake cry, Teo adds on. "I've known you for years Evelyn, and I'm being ditched."

I roll my eyes and the two get into their cart behind us. "You both know you'd do the same. Teo last time you brought someone to the theme park I had to third wheel the entire time." He scoffs back at me as if to say 'Me? Do that? I would never.'
