chapter 9

Two months later

We've been script reading for what feels like years and we're finally filming. I couldn't sleep all night but that's to be expected.

I get on set with Madeleine and head to wardrobe. I'm put in this cute pink top and black flare bottoms, and some converse. "I look so cute! Thanks Amy!" I say to the woman who made them in the first place. She gives a small smile as I head off to makeup, the same trailer as Mason, Becca, Miguel and Madeleine.

I was the second to arrive, Becca was already there. "Woah Evelyn, your outfit is so cute!" She says looking at me through the mirror infront. "Says you, your outfit for the baseball game is gorgeous!" She thanks me and we make small talk while we wait for the others to arrive.

Madeleine steps in 2 minutes after me and then Miguel and Mason come in at the same time. Mason turns to say my name but stops. He stares at me. "Earth to Mason, you there bud?" He says nothing. Just stares. "Love?" He snaps out of it, cheeks red as he sat in his seat.

"You look good Mason, the baseball uniform suits you." His face is even more red than it was before after my comment. I heard one of the makeup ladies say "young love" under her breath and I just smiled. I do genuinely think I love Mason. It's now been 2 months since I've known him and through the many dates we've had, the fact he's now got two drawers in my house. Teo wasn't to happy about his drawer being taken over by Mason's stuff but he'll live.

After makeup, I leave the trailer and go to set. It's the baseball scene first and it was a nice day to be filming it.
Mason, Tristan and the other boys playing the baseball team head to the field and I sit next to Madeleine in the back row. "Anddd action!" I feel the excitement build in my stomach. This moment right now could be in a film I've wanted to act in for years.

In scene

The ball flew with every new pitch. Lillian went to support her best friend Finney in one of his baseball games. She saw him walk onto the pitch. "Go Finney!!" She shouted. He gave her a sheepish wave and then he looked at her. Looked at Donna. Finney had a crush on Donna for years and Lillians heart ached every time he mentioned Donna, looked at Donna.

She tried to put the thought of Donna in the back of her mind and tried to support Finney in his game. She noticed another boy, a little older than she was walk and pick up the bat. "That's Bruce Yamada, he's really good apparently. Suzie thinks he's really cute but I don't see it." Gwen whispered to Lillian. She was only half paying attention.

Her attention was on Finney. Finney threw the ball and Bruce missed. Her and Gwen cheered. "Get 'em Finney." Lillian's heart was racing. He looked so concentrated. He did the same thing again. "One more Finney come on, you can do this Fin!" He did the same thing he did earlier, he looked at Lillian, then at Donna. His concentration was off after that and the other boy hit the ball as he threw it.

"FUCK!" Lillian shouted slightly, and Gwen just sighed. If Finney wasn't so nervous around Donna then he would've won the match, or so Lillian thought. Finneys focus was off the minute he saw Lillian, he just looked at Donna to cover himself up.

Gwen and Lillian knew that after this game, they'd have to buy Finney ice cream to cheer him up. As Finneys best friend was walking over to him, the boy that was briefly mentioned, Bruce Yamada walked up to her. "Hey." He said to her, he was looking down at the floor his hand to the back of his neck. "Hey, you're Bruce Yamada aren't you?" She reply. Lillian's fingers fiddling with themselves behind her back. She was nervous. He was a little older than she was so for him to be talking to her was a bit crazy.

"I umm, saw you in the stands, you should come to our next game. I can give you my number if you wanna find out when it is." Her heart began to race. Not in the way it Raced for Fin, but enough to make her nervous. "Umm sure, you got a pen?" His smile turned confident at the girl as he got some paper out of his pocket and wrote his number. She wrote hers down too.

Who was she to turn down Bruce Yamada, every girl in town did love him so maybe if she tried talking to someone new she could try get over Finney. She didn't want to but it was the hard reality for her. In Lillian's mind, Finney loved Donna, not her. So moving on was an option she might wanna try. "Call me tonight  after celebrating your win of course." She started walking off.

"WAIT! I didn't get your name!" He shouted to her, she turned around and walked backwards. "Lillian, Lillian Jenson." She shouted back to him. His smirk grew slightly cocky. "I'll call you tonight, Lillian Jenson."
"You better Yamada!" Lillian thought this was the start to a new romance. Who knew that that interaction. Would be their first. Of only two.

End of scene

"Andddd scene! Great work everyone, tristan, Evelyn, we may need to film that interaction again, the angle we used wasnt quite right and we need multiple shots, but take a break for now." We both nod our heads. We've been working on this scene for a while. My head hurts and we've had to retake the scene where Mason throws the ball at Tristan to try and get it right.

"Mason!" I shout over to him, I jog over to him and he wraps his arms around my waist. "Hey there beautiful, you were amazing as usual." He says, just before kissing me. "Says you, who knew you could actually play baseball Thames." He chuckles and kisses me again. "I've got a surprise for you tonight. Wear something sorta fancy."

"Ohhh surprises, you know I love surprises." One of my hands makes it's way to his cheek and the other rests on his hip. "I think you may like this one too." He peppers a few kisses up my neck and on my cheek. "You're overly touchy today. Wait what are you planning?!" He chuckles and avoids my question. "It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you would it." He whispers in my ear.

"Alright everyone, Evelyn, Tristan we need you to go from the top of page 16! Let's go people come on!" I give Mason one last quick kiss and walk over, to film one my scene with Tristan.

Omds I'm 9 chapters in this feels so weird. Also I'm writing the majority of this chapter at 4:06AM cause I randomly woke up at like 3:30 sp if there's mistakes then pls pls PLS let me know. I'm doing sm big for chapter 10 so look forward to that. Bye guys love you all <3
