My 4:30 alarm goes off. My suitcase is packed and Mason slept over so we didn't cause his family any disturbance when we fly. My mom is already up and awake by the time my alarm goes off. "Kids! We've got 2 hours to get to the airport, hurry up!" She shouts up the stairs. "Mom, our flight leaves at 9:45, we have 5 hours." I groan back down, loud enough so she can hear me. "Punctuality is key." Her words ring in my ear as my eyes adjust to the light.
"Mase, we've gotta wake up now, come on." He groans, trying to pull me back down into the covers by my waist. "5 more minutes." His eyes are still closed. I grab his wrist and yank him out of bed. His body makes a loud thud on the floor. "Oww." I almost laugh at how cartoonish the movements and sound were. "Don't giggle at me, that actually hurt." I can't hold in my laughter at this point.
"I'm sorry, I'm trying to hold it in." I say in between laughter. I sit on my bed and take a couple seconds to breath, before finally standing up and heading to the bathroom. I start brushing my teeth, Mason following behind me, it's a small thing we both do together every time we stay over the other's house. Afterwards, I leave the bathroom to He can get changed, me changing in my bedroom. "You done?" He asks. He always asks before coming back in.
"Yeah, come in." I'm wearing a pair of black leggins and a blue cropped top. Pairing it with my blue Jordans. I sit at my makeup desk and do a little bit of makeup, but just enough since we're in a meeting once we land in New York. He walks out wearing a pair of green Cargos and a plain white t-shirt. He's moving our suitcases to tbe end of our room, so it's easier to get them downstairs.
"You got everything?" I ask him, looking at the list my mom gave us both. "Yes Eves, we checked 4 times last night we'll be fine." He reassures me. "Do I have to come up there and drag your asses down here, let's go!" My mom shouts up, making us both laugh. After struggling badly to get our cases downstairs, out the door and into the car, we finally start heading to New York.
"Is any of the others going to be there?" My mom knows I'm referring to the original cast. "I think so, but I can't promise you'll see any of them today." My heart slightly hurts, but I'll see my family soon. We get to the airport, security takes like, 2 hours, and we finally get into duty free. "My favourite part of flying, all the over priced shit I probably won't need." I say, waltzing over to look at all the perfumes.
After a while in duty free, we walk out and see a book shop. Obviously I drag Mason in there and buy a book. Powerless by Elsie Silver. "Don't you have 12 books in your case, and another 4 in hand luggage?" He asks me, face puzzled as I put the book in my bag. "I'll finish them in a week an a half. That leaves a whole week, I'll be buying way more when we get there."
We get some food in the on site burger King. "Why do they only have these onion rings, in the airport? I'd buy them daily if I could." Mason remarks, grabbing his pack of 20 onion rings. "They're just onion rings Mase, they're not even good onion rings-" He shushes me by shoving one of them in my mouth. We both burst into laughter, not realising my mom's panic in her face. "The plane takes of in 20 minutes kids, hurry up!" Both our eyes widen as we take our hand luggage and run to the plane.
My mom booked us first class, which was quite nice considering we don't when we're only flying for 4 and a half hours. She probably splurged for the occasion. We get onto the plane. The seat luxurious. Mason's seat is infront of mine and my mom's behind. Although two people could easily fit into the pods. I sit in my seat, complimentary Chocolate and drinks are on a shelf space infront of me, aswel as the remote for my built in TV.
"How you finding first class Thames." I peer over the wall infront of me, his eyes are darting around the area. "It's like a bed. A really soft bed." I chuckle at him. I sit back down so the and can take off. The flight goes by so quickly I think it's a joke by the time they say we're about to land. Once we get off and get our luggage, I see familiar faces. Blake, Penn, Chance and Ed are holding a sign, welcoming me and my mother. "Oh my god, you guys are here." My mom sounds like a teenage girl again, I mean, she was when they first met.
