My brow furrowed slightly as I looked at him. He can be perplexing and frightening at times. "Have you officially gone insane?" I snorted, running my fingers through my unruly hair.
The sound of his laugh got lost in the gush of air that entered the room through the open window, but he was now staring into nothingness, and the few moments of pindrop silence felt like an eternity until he spoke up. "Someone is outplaying us; I've always said that this is utterly wrong." His voice was low and calm, but the reddening of his ears told me that blood was rushing through his body as a result of the anger he was trying to suppress.
"But they had to keep their prince happy, so they dragged my soul through the mud as well." By now his voice was sounding more like a whisper as if he was talking to me but at the same time not. Every word he said made his breath crackle.
I couldn't deny his words no matter how much I twisted reality, but then I heard that voice again. The only individual who believed in me and supported me. It reassured me that I was not wrong. "I need to rest; please close the door as you leave." I spoke sternly, eliciting another disappointed expression from Namjoon.
"I think you should tell Dad about the chaos you've created here." As he stood up, the sound of the bed softly squeaking followed. I ignored him and pulled the covers over my bare chest, closing my eyes.
.........
"You're still here, aren't you?" He smirks, crossing his arms and leaning against the old gates' tattered doorframe. A slight fire swimming in his irises, the lights from the other side casting a shadow on his figure.
Her breathing was choppy. She had scratches on her knees from trying to avoid his attacks while crawling on the concrete floor.
One of her lungs wasn't working properly. When she tried to breathe, it flopped like a deflated bag.
Her dress was pockmarked, and cuts covered almost any noticeable bit of her body, neShe was pleading, but there was no mercy in the man's eyes. He wore a long coat and pants that covered every inch of skin, as well as a skull mask. His jetblack hair, slicked back, was the only human-like feature on his body.arly stripping her naked.
She screamed more, her throat scratched, but her voice hit the walls and returned to her, only telling her about her own agony. Between screams, she choked on her own tears, but she didn't give up.
He fixed his gaze on her. "It's funny how you're not giving up just yet." He mocked her as he ran his finger across the edge of the gleaming silver knife while wearing a black glove.
"Please let me go." She screamed before jerking up, attempting to flee but failing when the man wrapped his free hands around her neck and slammed her head against the wall as soon as she moved. The woman held her head as she noticed the lights flickering like stars in her vision.
The failed attempt only made him more insane, and a quick death was no longer on the agenda. Tightening his grip, he drew her face closer to his, the wet tears on her cheeks and blood streaming down her nostrils providing him comfort but not enough.
"Aren't friends supposed to look out for each other? He inquired, and it was clear that he tried deepening his voice to sound dissimilar. "Now. we. are. gonna. learn. some. lessons." He grunts, slamming her head against the rocky wall between each word. The pressure was so intense that the yellow wall had turned crimson, and the woman had nearly lost consciousness, as well as the strength of every bone in her body.
