The next morning, Naru stomps her feet at the fire to put it out to make sure nothing's smoking or anything while I grab our stuff to head out again, Naru begins to speak in Comanche, "Kima. Nümai kima." She says to Sarii who tilts his head, "We have to go find whatever leg those tracks," picking up her bow and bag, we start to make our way to the forest,"Ühkitsi." Sarii barks and follows us and starts leading the way.
We cross a river and the mud, making our footprints. After that, we end up in a open field filled with... dead buffaloes, they were killed for sport. Looking around, just so many dead buffaloes that were killed... for nothing.
We approached a buffalo that's in front of us and kneeling down in front of it. Naru grabs a leaf from her bag and puts it onto the buffaloes head, closing our eyes and we speak in Comanche, "Tasiwoo Atsabi, yutsü tsaaku. Ürako taa ahpü yühmuku." We open our eyes looking around and we both turn our heads to look at each other sadly, I sighed.
I open eyes my again and see something on the ground, a cigar. I picked it up looking at it, I start sniffing it and I scrunch my nose, Naru notices, "What is that?" She asks "Don't know." I said and handed it to her, she gazes at it, sniffs it too, and she puts it back down. We straightened back up and we head back to walking.
We're back at the forest again, Sarii's running farther while we follow him, but he already disappeared into the forest. Naru finds a stick while I stand near her looking around, then there was a loud SNAP! We both turn our heads to the sound, "Sarii?" Naru called out. It gets a little quiet, too quiet I should say. Leaving me walking slowly and having me slipping. "Shit!" "(Y/N)!" Naru called out approaching my way, "Carful Naru, I believe around here is quicksand.." I say as I pull out my muddy foot.
"..god dammit." I muttered, backing up slowly. "We may have to walk around and try not to get sucked in." Nodding her in agreement, we slowly began walking around the quicksand. After a couple of seconds, Naru slips in and having me turn around with wide eyes, "Naru!" I say slowly but quickly approaching her, extending my hand for her to grab. She takes my hand, holding tightly as she can for me to pull her up before she starts sinking in deeper, "Alright, on the count of 3, I'll pull you back up." I say as she nods her head; leaving her sinking in more deeper, having me on my knees, "Okay, 1... 2... 3!" Pulling her back up as hard as I can but leaving us sinking again. "Shit, shit. Alright, on my count again." She grabs a hold on my hand tightly again, "3... 2... 1!" I pulled her with all of my strength and she starts to slowly come back up. Pulling her out one last time and she gets out of the quicksand, having me sitting on the ground panting and looking at her, "You okay?" I asked, slightly worried, "Never better." She rolls her eyes, having me chuckling, I stand up offering my hand to her and she doesn't hesitate to take it as I pull her back up on her feet. "Let's go wash up." I said, "Good idea." Naru nodded in agreement and we head back to our walking and to find a lake to wash up our muddy bodies and weapons.
