Standing beside the Asgardian form of the CT scanner, as the Asgardian physicians study Jane and the force in her. I'm sure its connected to me because I don't just understand why my power keeps reaching out to it.
An orange barrier raises as Jane lies down.
"What's that?" Jane asks raising her hands up to touch it. The holographic body also raises its."Be still." The lady says in a reprimanding tone. Thor murmurs behind me but I'm too focused on the machine in front of me.
"That's a quantum field generator, isn't it?" Jane asks turning to me.
"I guess so?" I replied.
"It's a Soul Forge." The nurse replies.
"Well, does a Soul Forge transfer molecular energy from one place to another?" I ask and the lady looks at me impressed.
"Yes." She replies.
"It's a quantum field generator." Jane whispers to me smiling.
"My words are mere noises to you that you ignore them completely?" A man with white hair and white beard walks in asking, his golden eye patch gleaming in the light.
"She's ill." Thor defends.
"She is mortal. Illness is their defining trait." The man retorts.
"I brought them here because we can help her." Thor insists.
"She does not belong here in Asgard anymore than a goat belongs at a banquet table. Both of them." The man replies and I scowl.
Jane sits up and turns in our direction.
"Did he just...?" She starts but I cut her off."Who do you think you are?" I ask him, my temper rising.
"I'm Odin. King of Asgard. Protector of the Nine Realms." The man replies smugly and my anger falters a tiny bit.
"Well, I am Lisa Stark, one of the defenders of the planet earth." I replied. His displeasure shines on his face as he scowls at me. King or no king, this guy is an asshole.
"I'm..." Jane starts but he cuts her off.
"I know very well who you are, Jane Foster. Both of you." Odin replies.
"You told your Dad about me? About us?" Jane asks as we turn to Thor.
"He doesn't need to tell me about you, words spread across the stars about a Midgardian that held the tesseract in her hands without any complications." Odin replies.
"Something is within her, father, something I have not seen before. It is connected to lady Stark." Thor argues.
"Their world has its healers, they're called doctors, let them deal with it. Guards, take them back to Midgard." Odin commands and I scoffed.
"No I will not touch-" Thor shouts.
Four guards approach Jane and I, suddenly the energy force within us sets off again throwing the four guards aside.
"-them." He finishes as he helps me up. He makes sure I'm okay before turning to Jane.
"Jane, are you alright?" I heard him ask but my attention is on Odin. He moves toward Jane running his hand along her arm. It glows red and I don't have to look down to see mine glowing blue too.
"That's impossible." He mutters in disbelief.
"The infection, it's defending her." The nurse lady says.
"No, it's defending itself." Thor notes.
"But why its influencing lady Stark's power is what I do not understand." He continues."Come with me." Odin says looking at the three of us before walking away.
We follow him to a room that looks so much like a library.
"There are relics that predate the universe itself. What lies within her appears to be one of them. The Nine Realms are not eternal. They had a dawn as they will have a dusk." Odin explains. He shows us the ancient book.
"But before that dawn the dark forces, the Dark Elves, reigned absolute and unchallenged." He continues as I stare at the letters.
"'Born of eternal night, the Dark Elves comes to steal away your light.'" Thor reads from the book and I look up at him.
"They were these stories mother told us as children." He continues."Their leader, Malekith made a weapon out of that darkness, it was called the Aether. While the other relics often appeared as stones, the Aether is fluid and ever changing. It changes matter into dark matter and seeks out to host bodies, drawing strength from their life force. Malekith sought to use the Aether's power to return the universe to one of darkness. But after eternities of blood shed, my father Bor, finally triumphed, ushering in the peace that lasted thousands of years." Odin narrates.
"What happened?" Jane asks.
"He killed them all." Odin replies.
"Are you certain? The Aether was said to have been destroyed with them and yet here it is." Thor asks and I raise an eyebrow in question.
Odin looks at our faces.
"The Dark Elves are dead." He insists."Does your book happen to mention how to get it out of me?" Jane asks.
"No, it does not." Odin replies.
"Well, what does all that have to do with me?" I ask.
Odin turns to me before picking up another book and placing it on the table.
"Long before the dawn of the nine realms, there was a prophecy." He starts as he turns the page. I see a woman with her back turned but her hands were glowing, blue, just like mine.
"It was said that the fate of the universe would rest in her palms. She drew her powers from the six relics. The elements of the universe, space, reality, soul, power, time, mind. Each relic spread across the cosmos." He explains looking at me.
"She would be able to withhold the power of the relics put together. They would influence her powers anytime she comes in contact with it." Odin continues as he turns the page over.
"This is why its influencing your abilities," he says pointing to a line in the book, "the first time you come in contact with a relic, it would gift you with a new ability. Once you part from it, your powers would be normal and under your control again." Odin says before looking up at me. I look down at my hands in amazement.
"One thing I am sure of is that you might not be able to wield the power of the relics. You see, you're a midgardian, midgardians have the weakest trait out of the nine realms, the power would be to much for your physical system." He says and I frown.
"But how are you so sure of that father? It says here that the relics would strength her powers." Thor asks picking up the book.
"I said might, boy." He replies before walking out leaving us to stare at each other.
"Well that was heavy." I said cutting the tense silence with a fake smile.A/N: Day two's update is up.
