It was the Friday before the 4th of July. You were at the public pool with your friends when you get a flyer placed on you lap. It was neon green with black print. In big bold letters at the top 'HOUSE PARTY'.

"House party...tonight at 8?...Isn't that Harringtons place?" Your best friend asks.

You were reading the flyer silently to yourself unaware that you were being spoken to.

"Earth to (Y/l/n)!" She asks again.

"(Y/L/N)!" Another friend shouts your name throwing a towel at you.

You look up.

"Jesus,(Y/n). That's his place,right?" Your bestie asks.

"It is." You crumble up the paper and throw it behind you.

"So you're not gunna go?"

"What do you think,(Y/besties/n)? It's been a goddamn week and already he's throwing a party?"

"WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE?!" Robin shouts.

You and your friends see her in the distance ripping the flyers from peoples hands.

"WHO MADE THESE?!" Robin sets her eyes on you and your friends and runs over to you.
"I see you don't have one,(Y/n). You do this? Huh? To get back at him?"

You get up from your lounge chair and got up in Robin's face.

"You wanna try that again,Buckley?"

Robin stepped back. She knew you could easily kick her ass without effort.

"Kn-know who did this?" She asked again calmly.

"I don't. So you better go warn him!"

"Yeah." She said about to turn and leave when she turned back to you.
"Are you coming to this?"

"Considering I didn't even know about it till just now, probably not." You glared.

"(Y/n),come. We miss you."

"Then Why not invite me out to something that's not at my fucking ex-boyfriend's house,Robin." You snapped and push past her.

Later that night you were sitting in your room reading. When you heard the sudden stream of cars passing by on your street. Which you knew where they were all headed. It was after 8 o'clock.
They were heading to Steve's.
You got up from your bed and walked over to the window and looked out. You were right, they were all headed in the same direction.
You closed your book and tossed it on your bed. You started to pace by the window. Sure, she didn't invite you. But someone did, right? You did receive a flyer to go. Robin asked you if you were going to be there. So why not go? Just to see what bimbo he had on his arm?
Good a reason as any.

Since you live about a block away from Steve you decided to just walk down to his house.
You wore your tightest white jeans and a black off the shoulder crop top sweater. You teased your hair just enough and sprayed a ton of Aqua Net to last to the next morning.

On your way, Lucas and Dustin pulled up on their bikes. They rode alongside you.

"Hey,(Y/n). How's it going? On your way to the party?"

"Of course she is. He lives on a cul-de-sac you genius. Where else would she be going in this direction,Dustin?"

"Is your name (Y/n)?"

He chuckled. You always loved their Zo banter, and kind of missed it now that you don't get to hear it often.

" You guessed right, Dustin. Are you guys going?"
