You sighed as you parked your car infront of the Hideout. Although it was a Monday and not a Tuesday Eddie invited you out there,to believe it or not —study.

When you walked into the joint you inhaled so much secondhand smoke you began to choke on it.
Eddie who was laid out on the small stage, shot up and looked over to the door. He comes running over to you.

"You alright?" He asked.

"Yeah I just forgot not to inhale right away." You say as you pull the neck of your T-shirt up and over your nose and mouth, clearing your throat a few times.

"Well if you would just pick up on my bad habits your baby lungs would be able to hang." Eddie teases you.

"So why are we here? I thought this was on the list of forbidden places til after graduation?"

"Not when he's on the payroll it's not." Bev said.

Bev was the owner of the Hideout and probably bathe only other adult besides my Mom who had any actual faith in Eddie.

She threw a dis rag at his chest.

"Clean up on table 4,Junior."

You didn't realize, but you were glaring at after the woman as she walked away.

Eddie noticed.

"Hey,it's okay. She always calls me that. She knows my Dad. She knows I'm nothing like him." He reassured you.

You relaxed. It then made sense on why you were here.

"You work here?" You asked.

"We'll get to that. Let me just get to this table. The stage is ours." He nudged you toward it and heads for table 4.

You sat on the stage seeing that his history and English books lied open and some of his notes and yours spread across the stage. Was he already studying? Impressive.

Eddie returned. The dish tow hung over his shoulder as he sat across from you on stage.

"Okay so, I took the liberty of studying a bit while I waited on you. I even took some notes from the shit you guys read on Tuesday since I wasn't there." He shrugged a little shamefully.
"Oh,I asked Steve if he remembered anything about what was on the English final from last year since he had Mr.Nash too."

You smiled.

He eyed you curiously. "What?"

"You asked Steve for help."

"Shut up." He blushes.

Eddie and you studied all afternoon and into the night. You were already 2 hours late for dinner but.you couldn't take your eyes off Eddie as he dashed around the bar mopping up the regulars spilled booze and emptied their she trays. The way he laughed and mingled with them was fascinating to you.

"Hey." Bev broke through your thoughts handing you pencil she found on the floor.
"So you're the infamous (Y/n) I've been hearing about the past year, yeah? I wasn't here when he asked you to formal."

"Oh. I'm sorry. There's not really much to tell."

"Not according to the boy."

The both of you look over at Eddie who's now had to 86 a guy for blowing chunks all over his semi-clean floor.

"He's a good kid." She continued.
"Does as he's told. Genuinely good. Heart and soul and all that. I'm tryna keep him out of trouble that's why I asked him to work here.

You nod. He never did get to that part.

"I was thinking maybe he could take over for me after he graduates."

You've reached the end of published parts.
