The One With The Yule Ball

I realized I've never given much of a description on Edan. It's a bit late but I will be including that going forward. Sorry! 

The morning of the second task Edan dressed in her most recent Weasley sweater and a pair of black trousers. She placed a knitted cap on her head letting her black hair fall down her back. Since Hermione's comment at the Yule Ball Edan was making more of an effort to take care of her curls. More effort meant she no longer placed it in a bun every morning and brushed in semi-regularly. It was a start . 

Edan wished she wasn't so bony. It made her appear sick and feeble which caused her a lot of unwanted attention. Before her curse took effect she had a rather athletic build due to helping the boys practice Quidditch during the summer holidays. She hoped that one day she would gain more control of her curse and it wouldn't impact her appetite so much. 

Once again Edan had chosen a nearly all black outfit which she found amusing after Alicia's comment at the party. She hadn't realized how much she enjoyed wearing black clothing but she still stuck to baggy items. What she enjoyed most was the way it made her hazel eyes pop. One of the few things she liked about her appearance. 

In the Common Room Edan found Ginny waiting for her. The boys had already left to collect bets on the second task. However, Hermione and Ron were nowhere to be seen.  "I thought they were going to meet us to walk down together?" Edan questioned. 

Ginny shrugged. "I haven't seen them all morning."

Edan concluded they must have left without them perhaps with Harry. There was a line of students waiting to take the small boats out to the stands in the center of the Black Lake. Ginny and Edan waited patiently for their turn. Once they climbed into one Edan was reminded of the last boat trip she'd taken, the day she arrived at Hogwarts. It was quite nostalgic to be in one yet again. The stands were backed but they girls found George and Fred rather easily. They'd been saving a spot for them on the first level right against the barrier. Cedric was easily visible and he waved enthusiastically which she returned. 

There was a loud bang and the four champions dove into the water, Harry less gracefully than the others. The water settled once again as they disappeared. Edan glanced around at the boys wondering what would happen next. It seemed everyone else shared the same thought. "So... do we just sit here and wait?" The twins shrugs in response as they collectively groaned. 

They passed the time discussing the products the boys had been inventing over the last few weeks. It was quite impressive the amount of work and skill they'd put into them. Edan was slightly envious of their achievement. Suddenly the water erupted as Fleur appeared. She was crying and had wounds along her arms and legs. It seemed she had been attacked by Grindylows which Dumbledore confirmed a moment later. 

Cedric appeared next with Cho beside him. They swam quickly up to the dock of the stadium and were wrapped in warm blankets. Edan cheered wildly for him grinning from ear to ear. Viktor arrived next with Hermione in tow. Ginny smacked Edan on the arm at the sight of her. Now they understood why she hadn't met them as they agreed. 

Suddenly Ron and a young blonde girl emerged as well. Harry followed shortly after. Edan found it comical that he had taken the egg seriously when it was revealed what the second task truly entailed. How could he possibly think students would be killed during the tournament. 

After the second task Edan spent the majority of her time focusing on her lessons. The homework was continuing to increase as the term went on. As was her mentorship with Severus who was allowing her to brew multiple potions on her own. They were fairly easy potions but it meant a great deal to her that she was brewing these on her own regularly. Oftentimes Severus would use them in lessons as examples for the younger classes.
