Chapter 17

Akshara

As Akshara steps out of her class, she opens her phone to see several new messages. 

Abhi: 11:08 am I miss you already

Abhi 12:04 pm: Where are you sweetheart, at least send me a snap, need to see you :(

Ayaan 12:24 pm: Hi di, call me soon, I miss you 

Abhi 1:26 pm: Alright, that's it. Everything sucks without you!

Abhi 2:26 pm: Waiting for you in the office, we'll have lunch together when you get free from college

Akshara smiles as she reads all these messages. She feels lucky to be surrounded by so much of love! She quickly gets into the car to go the office.

As Akshara steps into the elevator, she remembers the last time she was here, the day she quit! She quickly shrugs her shoulders and pushes the negative memories away. 

As she steps on to the 12th floor, passing by her ex-colleagues, she notices various reactions, some happy, the others not so much. Her eyes locate Ishaan, who's talking to another guy. 

"Hi Ishaan" she waves towards him

"Uh hi Aksh- I mean ma'am-uh"

"Come on Ishaan, seriously?" Akshara raises an eyebrow in annoyance. 

"You're now-umm-Mr. Birla's-"

"I'm still a friend for you, or is that not the case anymore?" She sounds a little disappointed. 

"You most certainly are!" He gives her his signature boyish smile.

"Thank God! 

Uh, I'll see you later"

As she walks towards Abhimanyu's cabin, she sees him standing outside the door. He extends his arm and pulls her inside, pressing her back against the wall, crashing his mouth on hers, savouring and ravishing her. 

As they both pant for breath, Akshara raises her brow, aware of what he's doing.

"What? You can talk to that dumb guy and I can't even kiss you?" Abhimanyu says rolling his eyes and faking annoyance. 

"You, Mr. Birla, look super cute when you're jealous" she kisses his cheek.

After having lunch in his office, Abhimanyu orders ice-cream for both of them. He watches as little bit of ice cream makes its way down Akshara's lip, on to her chin. 

He instantly bends and kisses her chin, licking the ice cream away, making her blush furiously.

"I think there's some more here" he says pointing towards her lips as he bends down to kiss them. 

Just then, the door opens and Soumya walks in.

"Sir I-" she takes a look at the two of them and immediately clears her throat. 

"What the hell are you doing here?" Abhimanyu scolds her. 

"Sorry sir I-" 

"DO NOT. I REPEAT- DO NOT EVER WALK INTO MY CABIN WITHOUT KNOCKING!" 

"Sorry sir" and then she turns towards Akshara, grinding her teeth "Sorry Ak- ma'am" and walks out. 

"Abhi, let's not spoil our moods" 

"Akshara, just because you never told me, does not mean I don't know she troubled you in the past. I've heard bits and pieces from various people but the only reason I didn't fire her is because I don't have proof. Just say the word, and I'll get her done with right now"
