Abhira- A Forbidden Tale

Chapter 20

Abhimanyu

Abhimanyu turns a little in his sleep as he feels ticklish again...

For the past few minutes, his peaceful sleep has been taken away and he's pretty sure what's the reason behind it. 

"Aaira, no baby" he mumbles sleepily. 

And then he hears one of his most favourite sounds, the sound of Aaira giggling and laughing. 

He slowly opens his eyes and Aaira jumps from his chest and runs towards the corridor.

He can see her pigtails move up and down as she tries to run faster and the sound of her laughter echoes in the house...

A smile spreads across his face as he wonders how he ever got this lucky. 

His life had been a dream come true for the past seven years, ever since he first lay his eyes on Akshara. 

Their daughter Aaira, who was now 4, was very much like her name, a perfect mix of both of them. 

She had her mother's beautiful eyes and her father's smile. 

And that was just another reason why Abhimanyu loved both his girls more than anything else in the world. 

As he smiles remembering everything, a drop of liquid makes it way into his mouth, tasting bitter. But well, this wasn't the first time he had gotten a taste of paint as Aaira loved painting and for obvious reasons, Abhimanyu was her favourite canvas!

As he gets up and takes a look in the mirror, this time she has made him a pig-face! 

Abhimanyu shakes his head when he hears Aaira giggling again and he finds her hiding behind the curtain. 

"Aairaaaa" he fakes annoyance. 

"Piggy papa, piggy papa" she calls and runs again, laughing at him. 

He runs after her as she goes down to the kitchen where Abhimanyu finds his ever-so-beautiful wife making breakfast. 

"Tell the little monster to come outside" Abhimanyu tells Akshara who also starts laughing as soon as she sees his face. 

"Mumma, I woke up piggy papa" says Aaira who is hiding behind Akshara, innocently taking a sneak-peak at her father. 

"Ohhh, so this was a combined effort" Abhimanyu smirks. 

"Of course it was! It's 11 in the morning, we had to wake you up, right baby?" Akshara says in a teasing tone and Aaira nods obediently. 

"Well, I slept for that long because somebody gave me a wild time the previous night" Abhimanyu winks at her. 

"Abhiiiii, not in front of our daughter!!!" Akshara screams. 

Abhimanyu comes to them and picks up Aaira in his arms "Your punishment is that you'll have to give papa five piggy kisses" 

Aaira immediately makes a piggy face and gives him his kisses. 

"Same punishment for you, baby" Abhimanyu tells Akshara. 

"Abhiii, Aaira's watching" Akshara glares at him. 

"Well it's good she's watching, she should know much her papa loves her mumma" he grins and Aaira nods and claps. 

Akshara gets up on her tip toes and gives him four kisses and on the last one, Abhimanyu pulls her closer and kisses her on the lips as Aaira covers her eyes. 

"Everyone will be here at 1 for our family lunch, so let's have breakfast and then we'll get ready" 

Ever since Aaira turned one, Abhimanyu and Akshara host a lunch for their family on the last saturday of every month. Akshara's parents love spending time with their granddaughter and Aaira has a blast being pampered by her mamu Ayaan, who now runs his own start-up and spends too much buying toys and other things for Aaira. 

Ayaan recently got engaged to Lavanya, who he met through a business meeting. Aaira has formed a strong bond with Lavanya who treats her like her own daughter...

After Abhimanyu gives Aaira a bath, he pulls Akshara into the shower with him as Aaira takes a nap. 

After spending a good amount of time in the shower, they set up the lunch table together.

As everybody arrives some time later, they spend the entire afternoon laughing and enjoying together. 

"Aaira baby, how would you like if Ayaan mamu took you home with nanu-nani and himself?" Abhimanyu asks his cute little doll who is all decked up in a frilly frock and has star-pins to support her pigtails. 

"Yayyy!! Mamu, new doll!" she turns towards Ayaan. 

"Of course Princess!!" he lifts her up. 

As they're about to leave, Akshara and Abhimanyu kiss Aaira on her cheeks when she suddenly says "Papa, kiss me on the lips like you did with mumma" 

Akshara turns tomato red and Abhimanyu starts looking here and there as everybody else laughs.

"I told you not to kiss me in front of Aaira" Akshara says after everybody has left. 

Abhimanyu laughs "Well, it's not as if they don't know" 

"Abhiii" she playfully punches his chest but he takes her hand and pulls her close, caging both her hands behind her back with one of his hands as his other hand makes its way into her hair, pulling her closer for a kiss. 

"It's a good thing we've sent her to our parents' house, because I swear the things I'm going to do to you today" Abhi whispers and it sends a shiver down Akshara's spine. 

He lifts her up in his arms and carries her to their bedroom where he makes good on his promise every minute of the night until she falls asleep in his arms...
