Abhira- A Forbidden Tale

Chapter 16

Akshara

As the sun rays hit her face, Akshara opens her eyes and smiles as she feels Abhi's arm tighten around her waist, his body spooning hers and his face hidden in the crook of her neck. 

She turns around slightly and caresses his face, remembering the past two weeks after Abhi proposed her. Her life since then has been nothing short of perfect. Abhi has been showering her with love (that she wants more and more) and gifts (that she has been refusing to accept but he won't let her). 

But the best part has been the trust that they've build in each other. 

The day after the proposal, Abhi told her everything about his mother. As he broke down in front of her, she just quietly held him close, letting him go of the pain he has held on for so many years. 

As he poured his heart out, she realised that his stained relationship with his mother was the cause of all his insecurities and it filled her heart with overflowing love when she got to know that he had forgiven his mother for their sake. 

She looks at the sleepyhead next to her and kisses his lips lightly "Good morning baby" and he tightens his hold around her and kisses her with more intensity that makes her moan. 

She playfully hits his shoulder "I don't wanna get late on the first day of college" and she pecks his lips and goes to get ready.

As they both sit down for breakfast, Abhi picks up the newspaper and starts laughing. 

When Akshara raises her brow in question, he turns it towards her and she sees a huge picture of them under the "The storm of the month" section. 

It was from the day when he had gone to pick her up at the airport. Abhi was holding her, one hand on her waist, the other caressing her cheek while he kissed her forehead and she blushed in all shades of red. 

In bold and capitals was the heading "LOVE IS IN THE AIR(PORT)!" followed by a lengthy paragraph highlighting how the most eligible bachelor of the country was now head over heels in love. 

At the bottom were screenshots of various tweets from fangirls who were all over the place!

"Someone please tell me this ain't true, Abhi baby, please don't break my heart"- Abhitastic_love

"Hey Akshara, wanna switch places just for a day? I'd kill to be in your place 😭"- MrsBirla95

"If Abhimanyu kissed me in front of everyone, I would have fainted!!!!! 🥰"- Abhiismine

Akshara laughs as she reads all these tweets "Didn't know you had such huge female fan following" and Abhi blushes, making her laugh even more.

Abhimanyu

Abhimanyu waits to surprise Akshara outside the college gate while talking to his PR team. As Akshara stepped out of the house today for the first time since she came back to Mumbai, the media had gone crazy. 

And as expected, they didn't miss the shining diamond on her finger! Since morning, his PR team had been going crazy, answering the questions of the press and everybody else. 

Abhimanyu's PR Manager Alisha even scolded him for letting Akshara face the media without consulting her and that too with the proof of their engagement. 

While Akshara had offered to remove the ring before going to college, Abhimanyu had shaken his head in a firm NO. There was no way he was going to let her walk into a class of men who clearly have eyes, good enough to witness her beauty without making it known that she was taken!

So now, Alisha had suggested that Abhimanyu should officially announce his engagement and get the rumours done with!

Abhimanyu scrolls through his gallery and selects a picture that he clicked while Akshara was sleeping the other day. It just showed their hands entwined, the diamond sparkling in the morning sunlight. He puts it up on Instagram and captions it "Mine, now and forever" and tags Akshara and posts it! 

Just then he sees Akshara, walking towards the gate, clearly uncomfortable with the two bodyguards surrounding her. He steps out of the car and walks towards her, the security keeping the media away as they congratulate him and throw other questions at him. 

As Akshara sees him, she smiles widely and throws her hands around his neck as the media cheers and hoots and some even request them to kiss! 

They quickly get into the car and Abhimanyu's phone starts to ring. 

"Hi Alisha" Abhimanyu grins.

"I WILL KILL YOU ABHIMANYU!!!!" She screams into the phone. 

"Whatt! I did what you asked me to. Made it official" He smiles as he looks at Akshara. 

"PLEASE FIRE ME RIGHT NOW BECAUSE YOU NEVER LISTEN TO ME AS IT IS! I asked you to make it official so that our work gets easier! Instead of an official statement, you made an Instagram post? Seriously? I mean I agree the picture was AWWWWWW but a little heads up would have been nice!"

Abhimanyu laughs as Alisha scowls. 

"Now give Akshara the phone!" 

"Hi Alisha" Akshara smiles.

"Hi Akshara, your man is a total idiot! Good luck dealing with him!" she laughs.

"You should listen to that poor girl once in a while" Akshara scolds Abhimanyu as they walk into the penthouse. 

She opens her phone and sees a million notifications but then she just goes to Instagram and clicks on the picture Abhi tagged her in. 

Her expressions change to that of a love-sick puppy as she adores the photo. 

And then she finally sees it! 

"WHATTT! Half a million likes in one hour? OH GODDD!" 

Abhimanyu shakes his head "Accha, how was your first day?" 

Akshara rolls her eyes "Okay, so I entered the class and it was pretty normal for like exactly 3 minutes, after which a girl said something like 'I've seen you somewhere' and then people started whispering and then one girl screamed 'OH MY GOD, She's Abhimanyu Birla's fiance Akshara!!!' and then the entire class started screaming and running around, making me go insane!" 

Abhimanyu starts laughing when Akshara says "Uh-uh. There's more. When the professor stepped in, I thought everything would be okay now. But guess what, in the middle of the class, while talking about business ethics, he suddenly gave the example of BIRLA INDUSTRIES and every body turned around to look at me, even the professor himself!" 

"I'm sorry, I know this is all too much to take in" Abhimanyu pulls her into his arms. 

"But I get to come back home to you, so I guess it's... awesome!" She giggles and hugs him back tighter!
