I lay on Eddie's bare chest, my leg over his and my arm across his chest. He runs his hand through my hair and kisses my forehead. I lift my head to look at him and smile. He moves a strand of hair out of my face and kisses my nose.
"I love you so much." He says with his hand still against my cheek. I sink my face into his hand and close my eyes momentarily. "I love you more." I whisper back. He kisses my forehead before I lay back down on his chest.
I'm awakened by a couple of soft knocks on Eddie's door, though I'm not quite sure when we fell asleep. "Eddie? You awake kiddo?" Wayne's voice is muffled as he speaks through the door. I shake Eddie awake and whisper, "Your uncle is home. He's asking if you're awake." He groans and says, "Yeah, be out in a minute."
I listen as Wayne walks to the living room. I sit up and check the time. "It's already 7 pm? We slept for 4 hours." I laugh. "Here's your shirt and your pants... I can't find your bra though..." Eddie says as he hands me my clothes.
"That's okay. I'll just steal your denim vest so I can cover up... Even though there isn't much to hide." I giggle as I pull my shirt on. He just shoots me a warning look and I put my hands up in defence.
"Okay, I take it back! But I do want your vest." I say before I take his hand and kiss his cheek. "Then it's yours, m'lady." He gives me a kiss and then hands me his vest. I pull it on and hum before standing up to pull my pants on. Eddie watches as I do.
He licks his lips and stares at me like a dog staring at a plate of food. "Get dressed you loser." I stick my tongue out at him and throw his pants at him. He stands up and pulls them on then walks over to me, "Here." He holds his brush out to me.
I grab it and laugh while brushing my hair. I hand it back to him, hinting that he also needs it. "Thanks." He smiles then brushes his own hair. "Don't forget your shirt." I say, pointing at his shirt that is still laying on the floor.
"Alright, let's get out of here." He says as he pulls his shirt over his head. He doesn't even bother to straighten it before opening the door and walking out. I follow behind, keeping my face down.
"Hey, Uncle Wayne." Eddie says as he enters the living room. Wayne looks up from the TV and his eyes widen at the sight of me. "Oh! Hello, Delaina. I wasn't aware that you were here." I smile shyly, playing with the bottom corner of Eddie's vest, "Hi."
Eddie takes my hand, instantly calming my nerves. "We came here so her parents could have some peace and quiet." He says. "That's no problem at all. You're always welcome here, Delaina." Wayne says welcomingly. I smile again, confidently this time. "Thank you, Mr. Munson."
"Just call me Wayne, sweetheart." He smiles softly at me. I look at Eddie and he also smiles. "We're going to go grab some dinner." Eddie motions to the door as he speaks. "We are?" I ask confused. "We are." He confirms, I just smile and nod at him.
Wayne pulls his wallet out and holds some cash out for Eddie. "On me. You kids have fun." Eddie takes the money and smiles at him. "Thank you, Mr- Wayne." I pause and correct myself, a huge smile etched across my face. Wayne really does love Eddie like his own.
"Hey, guys! Fancy meeting you here!" Nancy appears next to us, holding Jonathan's arm. "Hey, Nance! Come sit with us!" I say excitedly. Jonathan sits next to Eddie and Nancy next to me.
The boys drum up a conversation, probably about music and photography, while Nancy and I have our own conversation. It's very loud in the diner, so I can't quite hear everything the boys are saying. I sort of just assume that they can't hear us either.
"Wait! You guys did it?" Nancy asks, grabbing my hands excitedly, "When? How was it? How do you feel now?" I laugh at how excited she is, almost more excited than me. I check her watch and say, "Yes we did. Today, around 2 or 3 I think. It was amazing, perfect actually. I feel fantastic, more like myself now... I know that sounds weird, but it's true."
She smiles at me and we both look over at the boys, still lost in conversation, until the food arrives that is. We eat our dinner, laughing as we enjoy each other's company. It almost feels like we're one big family.
"That was delicious!" Eddie cheers, patting his stomach. When the bill comes Eddie pays for us with the money Wayne gave him and Jonathan pays for him and Nancy. "Thanks, guys. That was great. We should do it again sometime." Jonathan says as he grabs Nancy's hand. She smiles and nods in agreement. Nancy waves goodbye and then they head to their car.
Eddie lifts his wrist to check the time, "Holy shit! It's already 10 pm. I better get you home." I nod and take his hand. "After you, m'lady." He opens my door and I give him a curtsy before climbing in.
"I'll see you tomorrow, baby." I lean over and kiss Eddie's lips. He puts his hand on my cheek and stares into my eyes. "Tomorrow." There's a brief pause, "I wish you didn't have to go." He pouts. "Me too, my love." I kiss him again and climb out of the van. I mouth the words I love you before heading inside.
Steve plops down on my bed, like a teenage girl waiting for gossip, legs swinging in the air and chin resting in his hands to hold his head up. "So?" I look at him, confused by his question, "So, what?" I ask. "You and Eddie," He pauses for a moment, "Did you guys do it?" I blush at the question.
"You did!" I jump a little and Steve practically flies off the bed and rushes over to me. "I can't believe it! You actually did it! I'm so proud of you, D! You're all grown up!" He raves as he pulls me into a tight hug.
"Okay, okay. It isn't that big of a deal." I say, trying to get him to quiet down a bit. He hugs me again and kisses my forehead. "You're not so little anymore, D." He whispers proudly. He smiles at me again and then leaves my room, closing the door behind him.
I smile and shake my head. Today was, by far, the best day of my life. I gave myself to Eddie, and he gave himself to me. If I had to choose one word to describe today, it would have to be perfection.
