Being an officer was a lot easier than Olivia had expected. She had days that made her cry and sometimes she even found herself out in Staten Island just so she could be comforted by her mother-in-law. But mostly, she enjoyed her first six months. She had a great partner named Elliot Stabler, whom became one of her close friends.

While his wife was working her dream job, Dominick was still working towards his. He had finished one full year of law school, and things just kept getting more intense. Exams kicked his ass and mock trials seemed to be something he lacked in at the moment. However, he didn't regret his decision to become a lawyer instead of a plumber.

"That is a nasty cut," Dominick frowned, as his wife straddled his waist and kept her eyes closed tightly. She had gotten punched three times today, so her face was bruised and cut up from the bastard that did this to her.

"Okay, but what do you expect when a meth head beats you up? Elliot had to choke him out," Olivia sighed weakly before wincing as Dominick cleaned up the wound.

"Did Elliot get hurt at all?"

"Nah, he's stronger than me. He's going to be telling everyone the story of the meth head he beat up," Olivia sighed.

Dominick put a Hello Kitty bandaid on his wife's forehead before kissing her lips softly. Olivia opened her eyes and smiled.

"Thank you."

"It's my job as your husband, Liv. I'll be doing this with our babies in the future," Dominick smiled.

Olivia blushed at the idea as she climbed off her husband's lap and looked at herself in the mirror. She thought about a little boy or girl that was the perfect mix of herself and her husband, and how gentle Dominick would be with them. She couldn't wait to have her entire apartment filled with giggles and even screaming.

"How long do we want to wait?" Olivia mused, as Dominick's hands found her hips. He pulled her tightly against his body, their eyes locking in the mirror.

Dominick looked his wife over for a moment before kissing her neck softly.

"I'd like to wait until I graduate, so maybe in two years? We can start trying in June 2025," Dominick whispered.

"And what if I get pregnant before then? Would we embrace it?"

"Yes, ma'am. We would enjoy every second that unexpected baby brought us happiness," Dominick smiled. He kissed Olivia's neck again before parting when her phone rang.

Olivia raced from the bathroom and quickly grabbed her phone.

"Officer Carisi," Olivia answered. She spoke for a few minutes before hanging up her phone and looking at her husband.

"Got called in?"

"Yeah. Unfortunately, it has to do with the guy that hurt me. But I promise you I'll be okay."

"You better be. Mia will be pissed off if Auntie Liv steals all her Hello Kitty bandaids."

Even if Olivia promised that she's be okay, she wasn't. Leaving the room after getting the man into his cell, Olivia was attacked by the man. Elliot had been down the hall, and only realized that something happened when the man raced down the hall and ended up being tased.

"Stabler!" Dominick yelled, as he went racing into the ER. Elliot quickly grabbed Dominick's arm and stopped him, since he had almost raced past him.

"What happened? Olivia-"

"We put the meth head into the cell and I was heading down the hall to do paperwork. Then suddenly he was racing out of the hall that holds the cells, and Olivia wasn't right behind him. She was attacked," Elliot explained, but he didn't say what her injuries were. He didn't know.

Dominick and Elliot sat side by side and waited for news. The desk sergeant showed up and checked in, and he was walking out when Serafina and Senior were walking in. Serafina didn't give her husband a choice. She told him he was joining her at the hospital because no matter how angry he was with their son, he needed their support right now. Olivia needed it, too.

"Family of Olivia Carisi?" A doctor spoke, as he stepped out of a trauma room and looked around the room. Elliot, Dominick, Serafina, and Senior all stood and walked to the doctor. Dominick grabbed his mother's hand before speaking.

"I'm her husband. How is she?" Dominick demanded.

"Your wife was slammed against a wall, and her head took a large amount of the impact. She has a concussion and a skull fracture. She is covered in bruises and cuts, along with a large gash to her stomach. There may be a few fractured ribs, but we haven't been able to confirm those yet. We are taking her to surgery to repair the fracture and to prevent any additional damage to her brain. Do you have any questions?" He asked as Dominick's eyes filled with tears. He closed his eyes tightly as his mother asked questions.

He didn't listen and didn't realize that the doctor had walked away until his father's hand was laid against his shoulder.

"A nurse is taking us to the surgical waiting room. Elliot and Ma are going to the elevator. We need to follow them." Senior spoke weakly. Dominick swallowed hard, but didn't move.

They stood there for a few long moments, before Senior caved and tugged his grown son into a tight hug. Dominick didn't fight the embrace and ended up crying into his father's shoulder. This was the first hug he had received from his father in years. It was something he needed right now, but would never get again.

"She'll be fine, Sonny. It'll just take her time to heal, but we will be here to help. I promise."
