Serena passed away a few hours after her kids gathered around to say goodbye. She didn't wake up again, so the last version of their mother that the kids got to remember was silent, weak, and pale. They didn't get to see her eyes open or hear her say that she loved them one last time.
Once Rick plead guilty to all of his crimes, Olivia and Dominick drove the twins to Boston where they were going to live with Rick's brother. He promised Olivia that he would try to fix everything that his brother did to the twins. Olivia tried to trust him, but she wasn't sure. Yet she couldn't worry about them right now, since there was a lot on her plate.
Not only did Olivia have to plan her mother's funeral, give a statement at Rick's sentencing hearing, and clean out her mother's house. She also was getting very close to her due date, and eventually passed it with no contractions at all.
"What are your plans for today?" Dominick asked, as he watched his wife slowly come down the stairs. She looked miserable, but it came with the territory of being forty-one weeks pregnant.
"Christmas shopping," Olivia said weakly as she rubbed her lower back.
"What happened to being done with that?" Dominick asked, as he walked away from the door and looped his arm around Olivia's waist.
"I looked over my list, and I saw that I not only missed Ella and Gavin, but I completely forgot Bella. I knew I had forgotten someone, but I didn't realize until last night," Olivia frowned. She rested her head against her husband's shoulder, a deep sigh leaving her lips as Dominick applied pressure to her back.
"Give me your list and I'll go to the mall after work and pick up what's missing," Dominick spoke softly.
"Last time I trusted you to do that, Mia ended up with a toddler dress instead of one in her size," Olivia replied. Dominick chuckled softly as Olivia leaned back and looked up at him.
"I apologized for that nearly six billion times. She laughed at me and ended up forgiving me because you got to take her out shopping to replace the dress," Dominick smiled.
"But do you understand where I'm coming from?"
"Yes, I do. But still, you are so uncomfortable. Let me do it, or at least order the stuff, and I'll pick it up tonight," Dominick breathed. Olivia shook her head and pulled her husband down to her height.
"I'll be fine. Maybe waddling through the mall will help me finally go into labor. I love you," Olivia breathed, before kissing her husband deeply.
"I love you too," He mumbled into her lips.

Olivia did more last minute Christmas shopping than she had expected. She found additional items for all of Dominick's family, even if she had insisted she was done after the last trip. It was snowing by the time Olivia got out of the mall, and she was not excited to drive home. As she turned the key to start the car, all she heard was clicking. She kept trying to start her car, but it refused to start. She tried to call her husband, but he wouldn't answer his phone. Then Serafina, Teresa, and Bella were all at work. That left Senior since Gina wouldn't be back in the city until Christmas Eve.
Olivia hadn't talked to him in a while since he still actively avoided Dominick, and since Olivia was usually always with her husband, he was avoiding her too.
"Hey," Olivia said weakly as she awkwardly climbed from her car.
"What seems to be the problem?" Senior asked, without greeting his daughter-in-law.
"I wouldn't be surprised if my car finally died... I keep trying to get it to start, but it clicks instead," Olivia explained, as she rested a hand against her belly.
"Okay, hop in the van and stay warm. Let me see what I can do."
"Thanks..." Olivia trailed off.
"Yup."
Olivia sat in the warm van as she watched Senior try to get her car to start. He looked under the hood and fiddled with a few things before walking to the van. Olivia rolled down the window and looked at him.
"I'm going to call a tow truck, but you aren't going anywhere in this thing. I'm heading home, so do you want to be dropped off there?" He questioned.
"Do you really want to spend that much time with me?" Olivia said with a nervous laugh.
"Sera should be off of work soon. Then you can annoy her," He spoke plainly. Olivia nodded weakly.
"That's fine... I just need to grab my bags."

They rode together in silence, and once they got home, Senior hung out in the garage while Olivia used the wrapping paper she bought to wrap the additional gifts. As she was placing them under the tree with the others, Olivia felt a sharp pain in her belly. She reached out and gripped the edge of the fireplace as she struggled to catch her breath.
"Sera just called me. She's going out to dinner with the girls tonight," Senior grumbled as he came into the living room. Olivia was still gripping the brick, her face red.
"Olivia?" Senior questioned, his voice filling with concern.
"I-i think I just had a contraction," Olivia panted, as she slowly straightened her back.
"Huh?"
"Nevermind. I'm okay."
"Olivia-"
"Does it matter anyway? That I'm in labor?" Olivia questioned.
"Well, I'd prefer if you didn't give birth in my livingroom," He replied awkwardly.
"I'll call a cab and go home," she replied, before stepping slowly away from the fireplace and to the front door. Olivia found her phone and went to call a cab, but stopped when her stomach tensed again.
Olivia let out a whimper, and Senior went to her side. He grabbed her arm and let her lean on him for support. The seconds went by slowly, but eventually Olivia recovered. She looked up at him and frowned deeply.
"I-i don't know if I'll make it home in a cab," Olivia whispered.
Senior's eyes went wide, and he looked at Olivia for a long moment.
"Okay. Uh, call Sonny. I'll take you to the hospital."
"You will?" Olivia asked, her eyes wide.
"Kinda don't have a choice, do I?" He asked, his lips forming into a shaky smile.
