My first day of senior year starts today. I got myself up because I basically live alone. My mom, Helen, was a very busy woman. She was a doctor like my stepdad. They were constantly working which didn't bother me as much as you would think.
I got ready by taking a shower, applying a moderate amount of makeup, and gathering my things. I glanced out the window before running downstairs with my things to make some cereal.
I had noticed that the house next door had been bought yesterday but this morning I noticed two kids outside playing soccer. I had about 45 minutes until I would have to leave for school so I made my cereal and slouched down on the couch in the living room.
I was always early for the first month of school but as the school year progressed the later I woke up and arrived at school.
It got lonely at home all the time but I didn't have many friends. I'm the one who chose not to have tons of friends because I guess, I liked my life to be easy even though it was far from it.
I was watching bojack horseman on Netfilx while I waited for some time to pass. I heard something hit the side of my house and I figured it was those kids that I saw earlier. I fell off the couch because of the sudden noise.
I decided to check if the kids had gotten their ball back but I used my bag as an excuse to be nosy. I threw my bag on one shoulder and grabbed my keys off the counter. I casually walked to my car nut before I could reach it, I was abruptly hit in my head with a great force.
All I could remember was dropping my bag and keys before passing out. When I came to, there stood a very attractive boy with a full head of dirty blonde curls who looked about my age and the two kids that I saw earlier.
The boy helped me to my feet while I was utterly confused. "Are you ok?" The boy asked concerned. I just stood there trying to understand what the fuck was going on.
"Um, yeah, I'm fine." I said letting go of his large hands and attempting to grab my bag before getting light-headed. I started to fall but of course, Mr. attractive over here had to catch me.
"Woah, easy there." He said laughing a bit. His laugh made my stomach churned.
"What's your name, Love?" He asked in a thick Australian accent. He made my heart skip a beat and it made me confused because I had never felt this way before, not even for a crush.
"Mordecai. What's yours?" I asked in a usual southern accent except mine wasn't that thick.
"I like your name and mine is Ashton." He said leading me in to my car. I felt very faint at the moment and almost like I was going to be sick.
"I'm sorry about that. My siblings and I were playing soccer before school." He said and then he explained everything that happened leading up to the event.
I ended up having Ashton drive.

When we arrived at school, I showed Ashton to the front office and his locker.
"Mordecai." I recognized this annoying voice to be Rebekah's. I wouldn't trust the girl with my pencil and we weren't really friends.
"Hmmm?" I asked not giving her my attention. I was at my locker getting books for 1st and Ashton was waiting for me because I was going to show him where English 4 was.
"Who's the hottie?" She asked in utter confidence which caused me to cringe.
"This is Ashton, the new kid." I said in a deadpanned tone and rolled my eyes.
"Ashton, the bell is about to ring." I said walking up to him and placing my hand on his wrist.
Ashton shivered at my touch as he stared down at me as if he couldn't believe this was happening. People noticed Ashton but then he was a 6 foot guy with curly hair.
He was rare and I knew I would have to fight for him.
