Plot- JJ and Kie are a super adorable couple and the Pogues, while still supporting them, find it mildly revolting

Note- don't get used to happy one shots from me unless you request them cuz im kind of a depressing hurt/comfort typa gal

JJ awoke first, as usual. His sleep schedule wasn't beautiful, but it improved as his girlfriend stayed over more. He didn't move at first, instead contemplating a way to get up without waking Kiara.

She shifted a little, and he took that opportunity to remove his hands from her waist. Unfortunately for him, she noticed the warmth leaving, and her eyes opened as a result.

"J?" Her voice was quiet, the opposite of what JJ and the boys usually heard.

He liked her most in the morning, when she was most comfortable. Her guard was down, and she spoke so softly and calmly, JJ almost forgot about her usual fiery demeanor.

"Hey." He whispered back to her.

She turned to face him, pressing a small kiss to his temple. He instinctively cuddled closer to her, and she giggled a little.

"C'mon, I bet John B and Pope are already up." She says, and JJ is mildly disappointed as she slips out of their bed.

He follows close behind her, grabbing his jewelry and Kiara her own as she's stretching. He admires the countless bracelets she has, the way they all remind him of the ocean.

His favorite of hers would have to be her yin and yang necklace. It's simple, but he remembers the exact conversation they had when he asked why she always wore it.

"It reminds me things aren't always black and white. There's good in evil, and evil in good. No one is fully one or the other."

JJ remembered chuckling then. "And you think there's good in my evil?"

And she had kissed him. "Of course."

Kiara suddenly grabs his hand, pulling him out of the memory and down the hall to John B's kitchen.

"There you guys are." Pope remarks.

"Had enough time for a quickie?" John B laughs, and JJ throws a pillow at him.

Kie doesn't hide her smile when she sees his cheeks turn a certain shade of pink. He changes the subject by suggesting they go surfing, and the Pogues agree.

"Wait." Kie says, and JJ stops instantly. "Coffee first."

"Guys, seriously?" Pope says when they arrive. "Come on."

"Just a minute, I'm comfy." JJ flips him off as he spoke, ignoring the way Pope rolls his eyes.

His head is in Kiara's lap in the back of the Twinkie. She's steadily playing with his hair, content with the way he's relaxed. His eyes are closing by the time John B and Sarah leave.

"We'll catch up." JJ mumbles, but he's starting to feel tired all over again.

It wasn't like a good nights rest was easy to come by. Despite Kie's efforts, the night was a horrible place to be for one blonde Maybank. So he took his chance to chill in small moments like these.

And he wouldn't lie, her hands were like fucking magic on his scalp. She knew exactly what she was doing. In this sense, it wasn't a surprise when he drifted off to sleep in her arms.

"Kiara, we love you guys, but what the hell are y'all doing? You missed the damn waves." John B exclaimed, pressing his head to the wheel in the Twinkie.

They'd been surfing while Kiara and JJ hung back in the van. She didn't have the heart to wake him.

"Shut up!" Kiara whisper yelled at him. "Dudes sleeping! Have some respect!"

Pope just crossed his arms and stared out the window. Sarah giggled, "Where's our respect, Kie? Y'all are a walking romance novel."

"It's not that bad..." Kie counters, but she's still running her fingers through his hair.

"How is he sleeping?" Pope wonders. "It's like 10 in the morning."

"Have you met JJ?" The Carrera says, and John B actually agrees.

When he starts the car, the humming engine wakes JJ. His hand lazily reaches for Kiara's, and she fiddles with his fingers instead of his hair.

"Hey..." she smiling a little, because like herself, he's more vulnerable when he's tired. It's a nice change from his usual appearance, and she's grateful he trusts her enough to show that side of himself.

"Hey..." he says backs, returning the grin before realizing the van was moving. "Wait... weren't we supposed to be surfing?"

Pope snorts and Sarah cringes. "You missed it, bud." The blonde girl says, feeling a small sympathy for his love drunken ways.

"It's okay." Kie assures him. "We'll go tonight."

"Who's we?" Pope questioned. "I have a test to study for. We have school tomorrow!"

"We do?" JJ rubs his eyes, trying to fully wake up. "I thought it was Saturday."

"It's not." John B whispers, then louder, "But I'll still go with you guys. Sarah, too. Right, babe?"

Sarah glanced back at JJ from the passenger seat, taking in the way he's playing with Kie's hands now, rubbing his thumb over each painted nail.

"Maybe we should leave em."

When they arrive home, Kiara makes her way to the kitchen for some kind of lunch. JJ follows shortly behind, grabbing a pan even though he has no clue what she wants to make.

"What's the plan?"

"I don't know. What are they in the mood for?" She answers, taking the pan from him and chuckling.

"Grilled cheese!" Sarah pipes up from the couch, and each boy mumbled their agreement.

So she and JJ spend their time with bread and cheddar, laughing when JJ added way too much to his particular sandwich. When they're finished, the Pogues gather around the table to eat.

John B nearly takes the first bite before JJ swats his hand. The Routeledge gawks when he drops the sandwich, and glared at the blonde boy as a result.

"What the hell, J?"

"Say thank you!" JJ glares back. "Fucking barbarian."

"Uh... thanks, Kie."

It triggers everyone else's grateful response, and JJ marveled at Kie's modest blush. They retreat back to John B's guest room afterward while Pope studies, and the couple go out on the patio.

"Are we really going back to the beach tonight?" JJ wonders when Kiara grabs a book.

"Yes, if that's what you want. You missed it earlier."

"I can't believe I deadass fell asleep." He pushes his hair back to adjust his red hat on.

"It's okay, Jay. You know we go every weekend. You'll just go with them next time."

"No magic hands." He says sternly, but she can feel the humor behind it. "Got me all sleepy and shit."

"You weren't complaining when my hands were actually working."

"Cause' that shit felt good!" JJ defended, laughing when she burst into giggles.

Then he kisses her, and they both smile into the kiss. "You're a dork, I swear." She says, pushing him back gently with a hand on his chest.

"I love you." He says bluntly, and Kiara is almost shocked. He isn't usually the one to say it first.

"I love you, too, J. Always."
