im sorry again i didn't see this until two days ago. i don't usually check my direct messages on wattpad but anywaysss ima start with jj moving in with kiara cuz the others are kinda heavy. also i already did sick kiara. it's called "I Got This" (same book)

"Is is weird that most of my stuff is at the chateau and not at Luke's place?"

Kiara was watching him fold every one of his infinite swim shorts. He'd looked nervous the entire day, but now he seemed nonchalant. She wondered if it had really sunk in.

"You don't have to move in if you don't want to, J. It's just a suggestion. Do whatever you're comfortable with."

He zipped up the suitcase, glancing at her and then the chateau door. She didn't miss the tremble in his fingers, even if it was only for a second.

"I'm good. I'll have to pack my stuff back home when Luke is out, though." He kept his voice steady, masking the way he actually felt.

A part of him knew Luke didn't even care. He didn't care when JJ stayed at John B's after the boat incident, so why would now be any different? He hated that he still didn't want to risk Luke's anger.

He barely acknowledged her concern. That was what told her things were less than ideal. Unfortunately, there wasn't a lot she could do about it in that moment. So she helped him with a second suitcase to load into her dad's truck.

They were bringing it to an apartment. It was theirs, paid for and everything. Now that JJ and Kiara had a steady job, things should go smoothly. At least that's what they hoped for.

"Shit is heavy!" She gasped, nearly dropping the bag on her foot. "What's in here??"

"Clothes, pistol, bullets-"

"You brought the gun." She deadpanned, finally settling it in the back seat. "I don't think it should weigh that much."

"Then I don't know, Kie." He snapped at her, which caught her off guard. "God."

Her instincts wanted to fight back, to be angry at the uncalled disrespect. She knew better.

"Alright, then."

JJ had decided earlier that he'd go back home to get his other stuff later. For now, he was more worried about the first night in the apartment. Sure, Kie would be there, but it would still be very new.

And quiet. JJ wasn't used to quiet nights.

When Kiara started the car, JJ got really quiet. He'd stare out the window, fidget with his hands, sigh way too many times. It was driving her crazy. But she couldn't do anything about it.

She had no idea what JJ was going through. Not that he ever really lived with his father to begin with. The Pogues had pretty much taken him in, but he'd always been under Luke in some way.
