Flowers. It was on repeat in his mind. The big day; the day he would be marrying her. Someone he sure as hell didn't deserve, but loved more than anything.

And all he could think about was flowers.

"Hey, man you alright?"

JJ sucked in a breath. "Yeah... Are you sure the flowers are right?"

"What?" John B blinked. "Green is Kie's color. It's perfect."

JJ sighed. "Yeah, but... what if she doesn't like them?"

"She'll love them JJ. And she'll love you." The Routledge assured him.

"Daddy!" A child's voice rung between the two of them, making both heads turn. "And Jombee!!"

"Jamie!" JJ's smile instantly showed as his son ran up into his arms. "Hey, lil dude!"

He was a small blonde boy with gorgeous blue eyes that lit up as he spoke. He was truly a mini JJ, recklessness and all.

"I can't find mom! Sarah said she was super busy and that there was a surprise later but I want it now."

"Me and you both..." The older Maybank mumbled. "Why don't we play a game or something while we wait?"

He gestured to John B who nodded, patting his friend on the back, and taking the child from him. "Don't stress about the flowers, J. Find Sarah, you're pale as hell. Pretty sure she has some kinda stuff for that... like makeup."

JJ's hand instinctively touched his cheek, where he realized his fingers were freezing. He took his best friends advice after ruffling Jamie's hair. This was going to be a long day.

It didn't take him long to find her. Near Kiara's dressing room in the church, she stood retapping sign. When she stepped back, JJ squinted to read "Bride is in. Keep out."

"Sarah?"

She turned around to find him looking like an impatient five year old.

"JJ! Look at you all spiffy!" She brushed off his shoulders, grinning widely.

"Yeah, um... got any, like... makeup? John B said-"

"Buddy, you are really pale."

"Yeah." He sighed.

She chuckled a little, grabbing his hands and leading him to the room beside Kiara's. There, she found her bag, and a small amount of foundation. JJ's confused looks made her roll her eyes.

"Relax, I'm not going to poison you."

He still looked skeptical as she dabbed the substance onto his cheeks. Afterward, she tapped her chin. He was already panicked, and her expression, being deep in thought, wasn't helping.

"What?" He blurted out. "What's wrong??"

She noticed his face again and sighed. "Gotta fix your hair, dude. Either you swear out the product, or your hair is uncooperative."

She could visibly see him running his hands on his suit, presumably because they were sweaty as she felt moments prior.

"Hey, look at me." Worried blue eyes found her, and she couldn't help but smile at his demeanor. "Everyone is nervous on their wedding day. You have nothing to worry about."

"I have no ideas what the fuck I'm supposed to say!" JJ immediately exclaimed, standing and pacing. "She's gonna be gorgeous, obviously, and I'm sweating like a goddamn animal! Where am I supposed to walk? Who's going to watch Jamie during the ceremony? What if the kiss is awkward...? Her parents are going to be watching!!"

"JJ!!" She put both hands on his shoulders to stop his rambling. "Breathe! Like me, okay?"

She inhaled exaggerated breaths until his matched hers. "Okay, question one, words will come to you when you're up there. Trust me. Two, we have cologne for a reason. Three, you walk up in front of the priest. Four, Pope is watching Jamie because I'm the maid of honor, and John B is your best man. And the kiss won't be awkward, honey, just use your usual charm."

He seemed satisfied with her confident answers in everything. After a few more deep breaths, he raised a brow. "And her parents?"

She threw her head back and laughed. "JJ, you've been in much worse situations with them."

Sarah then looped one finger around his necklace, questioning his decision to keep it on.

"It's the only... 'me' thing about this outfit. I feel like a freaking kook." He grumbled, and she shrugged, deciding a shark tooth couldn't hurt.

When the time finally came, JJ had calmed down. Pope stood in the pews, Jamie excitedly bouncing in his arms. He'd waved to JJ and John B multiple times, each man reportedly excited about their friends marriage.

Sarah had done a wonderful job cleaning him up for the ceremony. Although most of the priests words flew by his head, he definitely recognized the music, and the fact that Kie would be walking down that isle soon after it started playing.

First, it was John B and Sarah, walking hand in hand. Sarah waved respectfully while John B threw finger guns at literally everyone. To JJ, he was glad someone was still acting normal. Then it was the flower girl, which was Wheezie. She'd been reluctant at first, but it quickly became her personal interest to see just how a Maybank wedding would go.

Finally, JJ caught glimpse of a white dress, white veil, and beautiful heels. Her hair was curled in a way that perfectly defined their natural state, and her makeup only highlighted her features. To say JJ was speechless would be an understatement.

Kiara was smiling so wide, just about laughing in pure, uninterrupted joy. Then there were tears in his eyes, and he had no clue why the fuck they were there. Just like that, they were face to face, and she whispered a small "hi" followed by a cute wave.

He could've melted right then and there. "Hey."

The priest continued with more mumbo jumbo that neither of them really understood. So for those two minutes, Kiara tried to get her mother to stop ugly crying with her eyes, and JJ prayed his hands would stop sweating.

"Do you, JJ Maybank, take Kiara to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

He snapped back just in time, mouth twitching into a smile. "Hell yeah."

This earned a giggle from his wife to be.

"And do you, Kiara Carrera, take JJ to be your lawfully wedded husband."

She took his hands, locking his eyes in hers. "Yes, I absolutely do."

"You may k-"

JJ didn't wait for permission to kiss her. Of course he didn't. He waited way over his limit to see her and it showed, as it was the most passionate encounter they'd ever experienced. The cheers from the building was what made everything feel real again.

Pope, John B, and Sarah were the loudest ones there. If you asked, no one really knew who started the P4L chant, but JJ would bet money it was one of the core Pogues themselves. The night was unforgettable.
