"I don't have to marry a man just to lead my kingdom!"
Eleanor snapped at her mother's idea, both royals were having iced tea near the castle gardens.
"Sweetie, you need to, it's the law!" The oldest one spoke, raising slightly her voice, leaving the cup of tea on top of a small plate.
"It's been five hundred years since that law has been created, can't we just forget it?" Her mother sighed.
"We all wish we could forget it," Eleanor stood up, leaving the empty cup of tea on top of the other plate.
"What is a queen without a king?" Asked her mother, Eleanor froze.
"How come a king can rule without a queen?" She protested, silently turning to her mother.
"Don't you think it's sexist that a woman can't rule by herself? I could become the first queen without a king," she took a breath, slightly shaking due to still not balancing herself perfectly with heels.
"A king doesn't make a queen who she is, it's her ideas that make her a queen, it's her power," Eleanor left the place, walking inside the castle.
Inside the castle, she was met by two gazes, her younger sister was the owner of one.
"Lea, Lea!" She exclaimed, running barefoot to her sister, who picked her up, twirling her in the air.
"Arabella, what did I tell you about running barefoot? You could get hurt," Eleanor warned, before taking her sister to their room.
Although the castle had many rooms, the sisters wanted to stay together.
The other gaze was from a young servant who had always admired the beauty of the oldest, she had gotten both genes, the brains, and the beauty of both rulers of their land.
"Miss Eleanor!" He followed, handing her a rose he had picked from the garden.
"I thought you could like this rose," he explained, a slight blush on his cheeks, Eleanor turned to him, smiling ever so softly.
"Thank you so much, Leonard, it's lovely!" And after bowing, Leonard left.
He had been Eleanor's best friend for quite a long time, he had grown up with the royal family and had been trained all his life to protect them, though he couldn't help but grow close with the oldest princess.
It wasn't a romantic relationship that they had, it had always been a close friendship.
Leonard was always there to protect her, and Eleanor trusted him with her mind, always sharing her ideas and her progress toward becoming queen.
Both princesses were young, Eleanor being only fifteen, while Arabella had just turned four.
They shared many physical traits, like their brownish hair, or their lilac eyes, but while the oldest had her hair long, the youngest wanted to keep her hair short.
Arabella enjoyed her sister's company as much as they both enjoyed running from the guards.
As head of the guards, Luz Noceda fought to protect the Dandelion kingdom, she had also grown close to the sisters, who had welcomed her with open arms.
