"tannerrrr," you cried out, following him to your shared bedroom. "pleaseeee?" you continued as he sat down in his desk chair.

"y/n, babe. i know they're cute but neither of us have taken care of animals before." your boyfriend replied.

you frowned at him and grabbed his hands, wrapping them around your waist. he pulled you close in between his legs and lied his head on your chest.

"if we don't get them now, we won't be able to get them later," you started, raking your fingers throught his hair. "please love, it'll be hard at times but we can do it" you kissed the top of his head.

he hummed into your chest and pulled back a bit, looking right up at you. your hands traveled down to his cheeks and your thumbs caressed his face lightly. you could see he was thinking, which was a good thing.

the sides of his mouth curved up a bit before he finally spoke.

"fine. but only because you're adorable."

you squealed and let go of him, jumping up and down.

"oh thank you tanner!!" you laughed, walking back over towards him and gave him a long kiss. you both smiled and giggled a bit, both of you getting butterflies.

...

later that day, you both went to a pet store near you and grabbed stuff that the kittens would need. you and him were smiling the whole time. (he was mostly smiling because you were, he loved seeing you happy)

then the next day at around 14:00, it was time to meet your new kittens.

when you got there, you both were absolutely awestruck. the girl was a calico with browns, blacks, and grey spots scattered around. her eyes were big and beady which made her even more adorable.

the boy was orange and white and was way more energetic than his sister. they were both the most adorable things ever. the owner of their mother gave you a quick rundown about them, stuff like their behavior and regarding their living situation before. they were outdoor cats, after all.

you brought them home in their carrier a bit later and showed them their food, water, and litter box. they were a bit stand-offish since they had only just met you so they lied in their carrier for a while.

during that time, you and tanner were sitting on the couch near them. his arm was around you as you rested your head on his shoulder.

"im so glad we got them" you said.

"me too. they're so cute"

you both sat in silence for a bit.

"oh and tanner?" you looked up at him. "you are not naming them."
