ngl writers block hit me super hard this week........ did not fucking know what to do for this tbh (pic related)

anyway,, gender neutral reader, second person pov, hope that's okay :> (can change it if needed)

you and isaac have always been close.

you were those "friends" that everyone in public would stop you and say 'you both are such a cute couple!'. not that you were complaining, though.

there would be many instances where you would catch yourself looking at the boy and just smile. sometimes you would even do things just to be close to him.

your friends and even your family have pointed it out to you, but you'd just blush and shrug it off. you were in denial.

isaac was the same way. he was constantly trying to find ways to be with you every second of the day.

"hey, y/n" isaac called from behind you, grabbing your attention.

"hm?" you swiveled your chair back to face him. "i think there's something in my eye but i can't get it. can you help me?" he replied.

without question, you stood up and put your hands on his arms, your neck stretching up to examine his eye.

as he watched you look for the "thing" in his eye, a smile quickly spread across his face. at that moment, he realized how close you two were.

your bodies were flush up against eachother with your hands on his biceps and his right arm resting on your shoulder.

"what?" you asked, confused as to why was all of a sudden was completely fine.

"nothing... i just like you looking up at me."

you were taken aback a bit, but nonetheless you smiled back.

"you're such an idiot."

that was just one of the many times where you fell more in love with isaac. he was just so... amazing. that's the only way to describe it.

it was pretty obvious that you two both really liked eachother. and today was the day that you were finally gonna ask him out.

you were nervous, to say the least, but you were starting to also get scared about him losing interest in you. (which wouldn't happen, to be clear)

you had already texted him before to ask if you could come over. he said yes, obviously.

...

once you had pulled up to his house, you turned off your car and stepped out.

'okay, y/n. you can do this.'

before you could even process what you were doing, you were already walking up the steps to Isaac's door and opening it.

"isaac?" you called out, shutting the front door behind you and sliding your shoes off.

"in my room!" he shouted back. you ran upstairs and walked into the room. he turned to look at you, giving you heart eyes pretty much as his eyes landed on you.

"hi," you half-whispered. he just smiled and stood up.

"im glad you're here," he paused to hug you. "i have something i wanna tell you."

'oh no...'

"me too!" you shakily replied back, your anxiety becoming more and more evident. isaac payed no attention to it and walked you over to his bed.

"so... who's gonna go first?" the boy in front of you asks.

"I know this is kinda cringe, but," you stop to lightly laugh. "why don't we say it at the same time?" you suggest, half-joking half-serious.

isaac nods and clears his throat. 'it's now or never.'

"on the count of 3." he says with a smile.

"one.." you fiddle with your fingers.

"two..." you realize your throat is dryer than the sahara desert.

"three." your eyes flicker around the room.

"i really like you." you both say in unison.

after a couple seconds of silence, you both break into a fit of giggles. your eyes tear up a bit, because of the fact that you both had said the same thing, but because of how stupidly nervous you were.

"wow," isaac whispers out. "do you... do you really like me? like that?"

you let a few tears spill onto your cheeks and nod, suddenly becoming non-verbal.

Isaac's face drops and pulls you into a sweet hug.

"no no no, don't cry!" he wipes your tears away.

your heart practically melts as you hug him back, tightly.

"i like you more than i can explain." you whisper.

you can feel the taller smile into your shoulder, shuffling his legs a bit and pulling you in even closer.

it was in that moment that you realized that you were in even more love than you and even him could comprehend. this was a new feeling for you and him, but you'll figure it out.

like you both always do.
