anyway take this tanner and larry oneshot that may or may not reflect a situation im in rn

larry was messing around on youtube and discord, just watching youtube videos and responding to dms. a dm from tanner popped up and he immediately dropped whatever he was doing to respond.

it was a funny picture with a caption from tanner, making larry laugh. he typed back a joke response aswell and smiled. he knew he liked tanner - way more than a friend - but he would rather die than admit it.

he was brought back to reality when a few pings from discord grabbed his attention. it was from tanner again, just a couple things to start a conversation.

they both talked for a while until they both had to do some stuff offline. when larry was done he got back on and was greeted with more dms from tanner.

right. iris. iris is tanners fairly new girlfriend. she was perfect for him, she was a generally nice girl. just tanners type. not his best friend who's liked him for months though.

larrys heart sank. he sometimes wished that it was him, not iris. he wanted to be the one who made tanner smile the way he did when messaging and calling her. he wanted to have tanner for himself.

the boy sighed and put his elbows on his desk in front of him, placing his head in his hands.

why am i like this?

this went on for days. tanner constantly bringing up his girlfriend, ditching his and larrys plans they had made a while ago for her. it was all about her. iris.

obviously, larry was sympathetic. everyone should put their significant other first, but for larry it felt out of hand. he could never escape her. every time larry tried to subtly change the subject, the girl would be brought up.

larry started a call at 1:36 am

"what's up dude? are you okay?" tanner rushed out, clearly worried for his friend.

"you know what? no. im not okay." larry could hear tanner open his mouth to speak but he just kept going.

"I don't know if you're oblivious or stupid or something but it's so painfully obvious i like you. i like you so much. every time you compliment me i get butterflies and when we see eachother in person I try to be as close to you as possible." larry took a deep breath.

"but you keep bringing her up. iris. she's all you're talking about but god it is getting so painful to listen to you talk about her constantly."

larry was shaking at this point. he couldn't believe he had actually done that. he was a bit proud of himself at first but immediate dread washed over his body. the room was spinning, everything was blurry. he looked at his shaking hands and blinked furiously.

he was snapped out of his trance by the sound of the discord disconnect sound.

"no no no..." larry sputtered out.

10 minutes. nothing.

30 minutes. larry became even more panicked.

an hour. tanner was offline.
