Song Suggestion ~~ engravings - Ethan Bortnick

Why Diluc wanted to go to a Statue of The Seven on the way you had no idea. That was until you actually got to the said statue.

"Hey how do visions work?" You asked on the way to the statue. Diluc and Venti paused, almost looking at each other for how to explain it. It was Paimon, however, that finally stepped into her role as a guide.

"Well it's said that when archon's sense your ambition they grant you a vision." Paimon explains and you nod glancing at Venti fake vision before looking at Diluc's.

"Is it rude to ask how you guys got yours?" The silence that followed the question was enough to make you drop the subject. Diluc was looking for a way to respond while Venti was rapidly blinking as if looking for an excuse. "Ah wait, you don't have to answer, it might be a bit personal."

How ambitious do you have to be to get a vision any way? Maybe if you tell Venti that you lost a close friend he'll give you an anemo vision... Wait, you can control air without one anyway what you are talking about.

"So why are we even going to the Statue of the Seven any way?" Venti asks, summoning his lyre to stump a random tune.

"For good luck, but mostly just a sign of respect. Don't want the Archons to find a reason to strike us down." Diluc says staring at you and you can't help but think that he was telling you to do it to show you weren't a threat to whatever gods would listen. As much as you enjoyed the Archons' character designs they would still need to earn your respect like any other person/character (expect Aether, he had your respect the moment he started helping people without asking for anything in return)

Venti hums and strums on his lyre, you recognise the song as the song that plays when you're loading the game. You begin to hum along as well and while the other thought nothing of it you didn't process Venti looking up from his lyre to look at you.

How would you know this song if you weren't from this world? His eyes narrow as he continues without stopping. He would keep a closer eye on you from now on to collect any other weird slip ups and proof to confront you with.

You look up at the Statue while Diluc places a hand on the statue and closes his eyes, giving a small bow of respect encouraging you to do the same. Aether walked forward to copy Diluc with the encouragement of Paimon, so you hesitantly began to follow their actions. Before you touch the statue you look up at the archon on top and then look to Venti only to make eye contact with him. You freeze like a deer in headlights as it becomes prolonged eye contact. You felt like he was getting ready to say something so you snapped your head back to the statue. You hear Diluc move away just as you close your eyes but for the hell of it you decide to say a prayer.

Listen up Archons, I don't know if you can only hear me if I pray at your statue or if you can hear me at any statue of the seven but listen anyway!

I'm off on a mission to change the future cause I've already seen most of this Journey before. This is my "tell everybody I'm on my way." Also my way of saying please help, I'm definitely weak as fuck even with air so like if you could help in some way that would be great.

You stepped away from the statue when you had finished and noticed Venti was still looking at you. You give him an innocent smile and move closer to Aether and Paimon, the two of them being the least likely to injure you.

"You were there for a while, did you say a prayer or something?" Paimon asks as you fall into step beside Aether. You smile at her.

"Something like that. It was mostly to test if archons actually listen." Most of the group looks at you with a raised eyebrow and you shrug. "There's not much proof of gods in my world so I wanted to see what happens in this one when you try to speak to gods."
