What was next indeed. The next few days were mostly uneventful except for meeting a few characters. You met Rosaria and Noelle a few days ago when you were running an errand for Jean. After you had finished you had a small spare with Rosaria, both of you being cryo polearm uses. She gave you a few tips on her to beat the shit out of things but it had only been brief. Kaeya came and took over from Rosaria and helped you train for the rest of the day.

You found out later that night that he had quite literally been pushed into the situation by Diluc and only continued to help you out of respect for Rosaria. Once you had warmed up to Kaeya and broken the ice a bit, pun intended, it was actually nice to hang out with him. Throughout all this most of the time, Venti would be trailing around you like a bad smell, often playing small tunes and starting conversations to keep you company.

You thought today would be normal, training with Kaeya, doing a few jobs for Jean with Noelle if needed or just wandering around Mondstadt (while avoiding the two fatui agents in front of the headquarters). But as the day reaches its end, Aether approaches you earlier than usual.

"Hey [Y/n], how's your stay in Mondstadt going?" Paimon asks as you greet the two of them with a large smile.

"Pretty good actually! It's going surprisingly well." You nod before gesturing to the Knight's headquarters. "I just met Lisa actually, I helped her organise some of the library books that had been put in the wrong shelf or left out. Anyways, what brings you here so early? You're usually out on a commission at this time of day."

Aether gestures to the person behind them and you realise that Sucrose was behind them, hugging her clipboard to her chest and shifting from foot to foot nervously.

"We were wondering if you wanted to join us. Sucrose needs some help taking some supplies up to Albedo in Dragonspine and Aether figured that we could use the extra help and that since you're a cryo user, you wouldn't get cold." Paimon explains and you chuckle nervously.

"Look I may be a cryo user but I come from close to this world's equivalent of Sumeru. The weather is 50/50, some days it can be as cold as a witch's tit outside and other days I feel like melting on the spot." You explain. Despite growing up in Australia, you still weren't used to extremely hot, or extremely cold weather. Aether deflates and shakes his head in a dismissive manner as if telling you that it was alright if you didn't want to go. He turned to leave but you grabbed his wrist.

"In saying that, I would love to join you on one of your commissions." You smile at him and his face relaxes into a small smile. "So please lead the way."

"Dragonspine hiking group, assemble!" Paimon cheers and floats behind the two of you as you make your way out of the city after collecting the supplies.

"I don't believe we've met yet. I'm [Y/n]." You say over the box you were carrying to Sucrose who was walking next to you.

"I-I'm Sucrose. It's nice to meet you [Y/n]. Th-the travelling has told me a bit about you." She says with a nervous smile. You send her a warm smile back.

"Ah, is that so? All good things I hope." You hoped your casual tone doesn't come off as too sweet or threatening.

The journey to Dragonspine was uneventful except for a few hilichurls and slimes that you and Aether easily beat up, Sucrose supporting the two of you if needed while Paimon disappeared into her constellations. To be honest you were very happy to be showing off your new skills.
