I sat there watching Hunter and searching his face for an answer to my question but he just sat there frozen in place. "You know what never mind! Forget I said anything it was a stupid idea!" I said softly feeling the bitter taste of rejection on my tongue. "No, it sounds fun! Let's do it!" He said suddenly looking into my eyes with an eager puppy dog look. I blushed and looked up at him as he took my hands into his. "R-really you don't mind doing a fake mark with me?" I asked slowly wondering if I was dreaming now. Hunter had seemed off all day long, so I was expecting to be rejected and pushed away. Anything but having him say yes so eagerly to my wishes! Hunter smiled and nodded his head again at me. "This would work out great! My mom hasn't seen my mark yet so we can do anything! Plus your folk wouldn't worry anymore about when you'll get your mark!" He said sounding more like it was just convent for him and less and less as if he liked him back.

I knew I had no reason to be upset over it but still, I couldn't help it. "Oh yeah...that sounds like a great idea then," I said softly with a hint of sourness to my tone as I spoke. Hunter didn't seem to notice this so I didn't press it more and instead averted my eyes and took a bite of my sandwich frowning. This however Hunter did notice as he leaned in closer to me. "Hey, why the long face? I thought you'd be happy about having a soulmate. Why do you look so grumpy now?" Hunter asked leaning in closer as he cupped my cheeks with his palms and stared into my eyes. I blushed again feeling my heart skip a beat as I fumbled for the right words. He was being so stubbornly confusing yet cute all day! I really couldn't get a read on this kid!

Hunter kept staring at me leaving his faces inches away. My mind started to go on over drive as I  imagined our lips crashing into one another's. I wondered what the taste of his Silva would feel like in my mouth and if it would be smooth or sweet. "Tell me what's wrong!" He said breaking my daydream as I was forced to come back to reality again. "It's nothing! I just had a stupid fantasy..." I muttered looking to the side as he held my face in place. Hunter leaned in a bit closer to me again as he whispered this time. "What kind of fantasy?" He asked with a heavy sigh that was just inches from my face now.

My heart began to race as I wondered if this is how my secret crush would find out my feelings. Just a few more inches closer to close the gap...that's all I needed. I found my self slowly inching closer to him as well when suddenly the moment was ruined by an intercom. "Juniper Harris please come to the main office!" The voice yelled out over a crackling speaker. Hunter froze and frowned pulling away from me. "Guess I'll have to find out next time. Do you want me to walk with you?" He asked snickering softly as he watched my blushing expression. I quickly pushed him off of me and shook my head trying to cool down. "N-no it's fine! I'll be quick about it and come right back!" I said softly running to the doors of the roof not looking back.

My heart felt heavy with dread as my head got lost in a fog. As I ran down the halls of the school avoiding teachers so I wouldn't get scolded I couldn't shake this growing dread that was sitting at the pit of my stomach. It was like the closer I got the maid office the more my feet wanted to run in other direction. I smiled stepping inside though and put on poker face as I greeted the secretary at the door. "Hello Mrs. Carter I was called over the intercoms?" I said with a puzzled expression as she looked up from her computer screen and smiled. "Oh yes dear the principle needs you in his office! Oh wipe that look off your face your not in trouble dear. We have a new student bed like you to show around!" She said smiling as she ushered me to his door. I guess I looked shocked or scared as I walked to the door and knocked on the door. Once again the feeling of fear crept into my head as I waited. "Hello sir? It's me Juniper!" I called out waiting to be told to come in. "Ah yes please come in! I want you to meet someone!" He called out finally after a small pause. I nodded though he couldn't see of course and slowly opened the door as the feeling of flight kicked in once again. "A new student sir?" I asked and fully pushed the door open only to be met with a stranger. Someone I didn't know but knew at the same time. He was tall and well built with grey eyes and shaggy dark brown hair. He wore a smile on his face but eyes seemed cold and dark. I froze as one thought passed into my mind. 'Who are you....'
