He laughed and rolled his eyes at me as we walked across the cross walk. It was only for a moment but to me it felt like forever. My skin prickled as the hairs on the back of my neck stood up in alert. I snapped my head to the right wide eyed as my heart began to race like a deer in head lights. Quickly my brain began to race for any kind of answer as to why I was reacting this way. 'Surely your just antsy from this morning! Maybe it's another episode your having! Look June isn't reacting only you!' My head tried to say to calm me down but none of it mattered. Slowly as if frozen in time our eyes met and I felt an emotion of pure dread wash over me.
I was sure as I had ever been that it was him staring back at me. He had dark shaggy black hair, grey rough eyes that peered into my soul and a fierce energy about him. It was Junes soulmate back to haunt me. My legs froze as my body refused to move forward anymore. My eyes stayed glued to his as i watched as he slowly passed me by and grinned. "I know what you did..." was the words he mouthed to me with a taunting grin. My face paled and I stood there helpless and alone, scared for my life when a voice called out and broke the silence "Hunter? Dude what are you staring at the lights about to turn red." The voice yelled out at me with a gentle tone as I was tugged my from spot and regained movement of my body. I slowly turned my stunned face to see June was holding my hand and helping me cross the street. My heart fluttered more as I blushed and then quickly looked back to see that he was gone as if he had never existed before. "S-sorry I thought I saw someone I used to know..." I mumbled softly walking with him finally I getting to the safety of the school halls.

June waved me off and headed to his class giving me a slightly worried look as he went to class. I smiled though and brushed it off choosing to ignore the problem. "I'm fine really go with to class and I'll see you after okay. My first period is a free period so I'll be in the library." I told him walking him to his first class English before leaving him be. I kept my head down for the most part and only looked up when people greeted me so I didn't seem crazy.  "Hey Hunter off to class?" "Hunter can you help me after lunch with math hw?" The voices kept on coming as I walked the halls all calling outs name. I did my best to smile and act like nothing was wrong and eventually I really did forget my worries until history class came.

I went to go get June for history since we had this class together and noticed he seems a bit antsy now all of a sudden. "Hey dude what's up ready for class?" I asked him walking over worried slightly but trying to keep my happy go lucky attitude he was used to seeing.  June looked up at me and then down at his hands grabbing my hand and pulling me into another hallway well everyone else went off to there classes. I blushed of course getting mixed signals but this changed when he finally spoke up. "Hunter...do you know what this means?" He asked showing me a dark black line across his wrist that made my heart freeze. 'Could this be because of him and the fact I saw him earlier! Does that mean he's really back to! Am. I going to lose June again because of him!' Thoughts began to race my head as panic set in but I had to keep it under control. "I'm so sorry..." I mumbled softly catching his attention. June looked at me worried and wide eyed so I had what came to my head "it means your soulmate is dead." I said lying of course because a mark like that usually meant it was buffering and that your soulmate was either found but didn't know you yet or that you would be assigned a new one. Of course I couldn't let him find this out after we had gotten so close in this life. "How about we meet up for lunch and I'll tell you more about this." I said instead and pulled away to go class with him hot on my heels.
