Pov y/n
Jesse nudges my shoulders and I get back to reality.
"Where were you with your thoughts?" He asks and I focus my eyes on him as they were unfocused while I was in my mind.
"You were with her, right?" He asks, reading the huge smile on my face right and I nod.
My mind kept replying our weekend together and especially the moment where she told me she loves me. Ever since I am so full of happiness that I think I might explode.
"Our weekend was so perfect." I start gushing and a happy expression lays itself on Jesse's face.
"We spent the Saturday out in New York and she showed me all the tourist spots since I didn't see them yet because I started working right after I got here. It was so fun to just enjoy the time together and then we got home and it just ahhh." I grin and let my head fall back to look at the ceiling before looking back at Jesse who suddenly smirks knowingly.
"So you did it?" He asks and I purse my lips before they curl into a smile and I give him a small nod.
"It was perfect and after that, we went to sit on the couch downstairs to watch the fire and then she told me she loves me." I smile contently and Jesse squeals a little in excitement, hugging me and I am so happy that he matches my energy and is happy with and for me.
"Did you say it back?" He asks further after letting go of me and I nod and bite my lip to contain the enormous smile on my face.
"Of course and then we just laid there and cuddled for the rest of the night and the next morning we were all cheesy and cute and made breakfast together while feeding each other the fruits we were cutting." I tell him and grin at the memory. Scarlett and I really behaved like teenagers but I loved every second of it.
"Since it was rainy, we stayed at her house and watched a few movies and talked about stuff before Rose came back from her dad's and we played some boardgames together." I end my story and lean against the counter, watching Jesse's reaction. He smiles brightly at me.
"That sounds amazing. I am really happy for you." He says and I grin at him in thanks.
"Too bad I had a free day yesterday, I would have loved to see you all excited." He almost pouts and I give him a sympathetic look.
"I was but you didn't miss much, I had work to do and didn't really have time to think about it. How was your day though?" I ask and he hums before leaning against the counter as well.
"It was great, I visited my family over the weekend and we spent a lot of time together and I got to see some old friends from home." He tells me and I give him an encouraging smile to continue his story.
It sounds like he had a great time and it makes me think about my family and my home. I haven't seen them since I moved here, only over Facetime but not in real life. It's not particularly a bad thing since I moved here to get some distance and have time to myself but hearing how great Jesse's weekend was, does make me think about visiting them.
In a little over a week is Thanksgiving but I don't know if I'll go home over the holiday because I haven't talked to Scarlett about it yet and don't know if she has any plans and if that involves me.
Jesse and I stop our conversation when new customers walk in and I go to check the ones who sit at tables. When the bell over the door rings again, I turn around to see how many people entered the shop to see if Jesse needs help behind the counter and am surprised to see a very familiar face.
"Hi angel." Scarlett says and I smile and walk to her since my round is done now anyway.
"Hey bug." I greet back and she puckers her lips a little, making me smile and I lean forward to give her a quick peck.
