adjective ~ not having or showing the necessary skills to do something successfully

We spent a little longer together basking in the sun's last rays. By the time the sun had disappeared, I decided it was time to get up and shower. Pushing away from my mate, the bed dipped as I rose to my feet. He had been snoring softly the past half an hour, but as soon as I left his side, he stirred awake.

"Where are you going?" Phoenix mumbled, half asleep.

I smiled softly. "To shower. You stay, get some rest."

He grumbled, his head falling back onto the sheets. "What if I want to join you?"

"I'd like to see you get up and tell me that to my face." I mused.

Phoenix's answering growl was enough to have me giggling. I softly made my way into the bathroom and turned on the light. Rummaging around the towel cupboard, I pulled out the biggest towel we had and set it on the side. Stripping down to nothing, I turned the shower on to warm up the room before relieving myself and brushing my hair.

I felt sticky and no doubt still smelt strongly of the hospital. Phoenix didn't seem to mind, but I wanted to feel clean and soft as I fell asleep tonight. The twins had a bad habit of waking me every morning at around four am. It thankfully wasn't painful, but I think I may sign them up for gymnastics already.

The shower was warm as it cascaded down my back, and I took a moment to just appreciate the feeling of it. Sighing, I grabbed the shampoo and cleaned my hair, leisurely massaging the soap into my scalp. If it was one thing I loved, it was a head massage. I struggled to wash my back, my lack of movement and flexibility limiting me to how far I could stretch my arms.

Huffing, I finished washing my body and grabbed the conditioner. It was growing foggy in here; the steam from the shower causing the entire room to fall humid. Rubbing the conditioner into the ends of my hair, I admired the length of it. My hair always seemed to take a beating when my health declined, so I was happy to see it getting thicker. It was darker too.

At least I wasn't as hairy as Phoenix.

The thought had me giggle as I rinsed my hair. My eyes closed, my head falling back as I rinsed away the suds. I no doubt looked like a maniac, grinning at the ceiling whilst all alone in the shower.

I snorted, blindly reaching for the taps to turn the shower off. Wiping the droplets from my face, I rubbed my eyes clear of water and stepped away from the shower. Blinking through the blurry haze of over-confident shampoo bubbles, I winced at the slight burn in one eye.

Blinding walking out of the shower, I searched for my towel, easily finding it and wrapping it around my body. Huffing, I grabbed the other and wiped my face before I flipped my hair over, securing it around my head. Raising up to standing, it suddenly started me when my vision swirled. A pounding headache started as the sudden dizziness overtook me.

Gasping at the change of blood pressure, I stumbled.

Unfortunately for me, being graceful was never one of my best quirks.

My foot slipped on the damp ground, the built-up condensation causing all the tiles to have a sheen of steam on the surface. I squealed as I went down, grabbing onto whatever I could to save my fall. The towel rail came with me, snapping from the wall with an almighty crack as loud as my ass did on the floor.

I gasped, pain shooting up my spine and neck as I fell on my back. Tears burnt in my eyes as my vision swam and my palms fell to the sticky floor to try ground myself. I could feel the throbbing pain in my lower back, a panicked cry escaping me as the muscles spasmed.
