When flowers bloom

Y/N's POV:

It's been a week since Ranpo and the agency got me out of the hellhole I was in. It's also been a week since Ranpo and I've been dating. I've been told by Yosano to take this week easy, this means Kunikida isn't going to overload my plate with work.

I tended to the mass amount of flowers and plants that were in my house, I haven't tended them since the situation and seeing all the roses and orchids that were one the brink of dying made me panic.

I watered each one carefully, trying to stay happy for my precious children to become healthy little flowers again.

'BANG!'

I shrieked in surprise as I heard the door slam open, wait, wasn't it locked?

I turned away from the plant I was caring for to see my dumb yet favourite detective.

"Y/N!!" He exclaimed, running in and attacking me into a big hug. I giggled at his childish behaviour and returned a hug. We stayed there for a minute or two embracing each other until Ranpo shook me off.

"Anyways! I was wondering..." He said, trailing off. I raised a brow, curious what he was going to say next, that was until he walked to the kitchen. He opened my cupboard doors, rummaged his hand at the top shelf blindly until his hand pulled down a packet of f/s.

"You were wondering if those snacks were free? Well to answer that no, they aren't. Just because we are together doesn't mean my snacks are free." you reminded, taking the snacks from his hand. He pouted and sighed then went back onto topic.

"So as I was saying, I was wondering if you would like to finish off our first date again properly?" he asked. I smiled at him. It boosted my mood to think that he was going to ask me out again.

I nodded in silence as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the door, now we were running in the streets.

...

"We're here!" Ranpo explained as we stood in a abandoned room. Was this his idea? Surely it was. I was starting to doubt it when I heard a 3rd voice. I silently prayed Ranpo wasn't getting someone to 3rd wheel.

"I'm here Ranpo!" A voice cried as a man came, nearly tripping through the door. Behind him, followed a raccoon. I titled my head at the man but as soon as I saw the raccoon, it locked eyes with me.

I stared at it with awe, it was so adorable I'd cuddle it forever. 

"Hi Poe, did you bring the book?" Ranpo asked as Poe nodded excitedly. Ranpo then whispered in my ear.

"Think about me while I talk to Poe, will ya?"

I frowned at him as he smiled a mischievous grin before sighing and walking off to kneel next to the raccoon. It then sat in my lap as I adored it. I cuddled it and held it in my arms as it rested its head on my shoulder.

"Alright Y/N enough dreaming about me! We've got a date to begin!" Ranpo said with a wide grin.

I looked at the raccoon, then Ranpo, then to Poe. To be honest, I was only thinking about the raccoon.

"Hey Poe, can I marry you're raccoon. It's cute, looks really smart and doesn't think so highly of itself, unlike Ranpo" I teased, making Poe worried about the muddle we were now going to be in.

"Hey! I'm better than Karl, you can't replace me!" Ranpo whined as he tried taking the raccoon off me, only for me to dodge. I giggled, giving Poe his raccoon back. I intertwined my fingers with the detectives as he led me over to the wall and opened a book. 

I wondered what his plan was. He opened the book and instructed me to hold the book too and read aloud. I wasn't sure what would happen but I trusted Ranpo on this.

...

I blinked my eyes open and found myself in a field of dandelions. I swiftly sat up straight and took note of my surroundings. Wasn't I just in a room with Ranpo? I stood up, and walked through the field, trying to find some clues as where I was.

I walked through the fields, then through a forest with other flowers and plants until I came to a familiar spot.

A hill with a Cherry Blossom tree on top. Sitting up there waving at me was Ranpo, with a soft smile on his face.

I smiled back and ran up the hill and sat right next to him, leaning my body against his.

"So tell me how did we get here, my number 1 detective?" I asked, looking up at him. He opened his eyes to reveal the emerald orbs of his and smiled at me. He explained Poe's ability and the idea for his whole date.

I pecked his cheek as we both stared at the view around us, just enjoying each other's company.

"Hey Ranpo, quick question," I said, as he looked at me.

I connected eyes with him as he put his arm around my waist.

"Do you love me?" I asked as I felt my cheeks heat up. I knew the answer, just wanted to hear him say it.

"Only when flowers bloom. And you know why? Because the flowers won't stop blooming around you." he said, kissing my forehead softly.

A/N: That's the end! Now to take a dang break before I write another book. (Most likely a genshin one-shot book or publishing something else.)
