As the sun went down and night fell upon Yokohama once again. Y/N L/N strolled into the giant casino. The room went silent and eyes were upon you, watching you stop in front of the door. "So..." you left off as you looked up at the people gazing at you, "anyone gonna challenge me or what?"
No response came. You crossed your arms and tapped your foot against the ground as you waited for a reply. "Y'know it's rude to not answer a question? Gosh you guys are idiots," you exclaim and pouted. You were really looking forward to a game. No one dared to challenge you, of course only the people who think they can out smart you. They knew you could beat them in any game, even if they cheated. You wouldn't even mind if it was a playful game but most people liked putting money on the line. You sighed and turn around only to bump into someone. You looked up with wide eyes to see that same bastard that stole your drink yesterday.
It was none other than that detective.
"I beg your pardon ma'am but are you looking for an opponent?" he asked as he fixed up his hat. Since you were looking for an opponent and needed one. Why not test out if he is the greatest? You politely accept his answer and go over to a table. Everyone whispered to one another or snickered. You sat on the wooden stool and looked across the table to your opponent.
"Well, what game would you like to play?" you questioned with a smirk.
"Choice poker," Ranpo said as he gave you a childishly smile.
"Alright it's settled. Well, how many chips do you want to bet with sir?"
"Lets say...500 chips. Each chip is $100"
The dealer gave you 500 chips each and didn't even bother asking the rules. 'That's weird. Normally dealers ask about if each player knows how to play or they explain the rules' You wondered as he dealt you the cards. "How many chips would you like to bet?" the white-haired dealer kindly asked Ranpo. "Just 300 chips," the black hair man replied. He looked at me, I smiled and told him that 150 chips will do for me. He looked at me with a confused look but didn't question. He just breathed (shocking right? He just inhaled then exhaled) and was about to ask Ranpo about if he would like to bet with the stronger or weaker hand when he was interrupted. "Weaker hand" Ranpo bluntly said while still looking at his cards.
"Draw," he said. The white-haired dealer looked a bit nervous or something. This game is fairly odd. As you and Ranpo set down your cards, you examined the 2 decks. You grinned and spun around on your stool as you took the 300 chips from Ranpo. The roses on your flower crown on your head slowly bloomed as you giggled to yourself. Ranpo didn't look a bit upset that he just lost more than half of his chips.
The game of choice poker went on. Sometimes you would lose a round to Ranpo or it was the opposite. The chips kept going back and forth most of the times. You decided to pull up a bit of a conversation as you both were playing. "This is one of the most interesting games I had in my entire 2 years of gambling. I'm having quite a fun time but this game has gone for a bit of a long time," you exclaimed as you put out all of your chips in front of you. Ranpo mumbled in response and slid 40 in front of him, quickly putting on a mischievous smirk. "Stronger hand please," you asked as the dealer nodded in response. At this point, you were getting quite tired and you knew you had a job to do after this game. You both drew your cards down while your eyes widened with shock. "And Ranpo wins!" the dealer exclaimed. You sat frozen in your chair as you gave him the money. "Well well Y/N-chan! Looks like you lost. How does it feel?" The male said as you stood up from your chair. You smiled at him and looked at him. "It felt great a bit. It's a pity that I lost that game, but good to have a challenging opponent!" You walked off and out of that casino. You sighed and started off down the path in deep thought.
"Waiittttt! Y/NNNNN-chan~!" The childish voice behind you said. You turn around to see that closed eye male waving at you. "Sorry Ranpo-san. I'm a bit tired for another game," you said and turned around.
"Tired for another game but aren't tired to take away another life, Y/N L/N?" the male said with a smirk.
Your E/C eyes widened as your heart was pounding by his response. You turned your head around. They weren't joking about this guy being the greatest detective in Yokohama.
"H-ho-how did you know?" You blurted out quietly. Your hand was shaking as your legs felt weak from how much fear that was in you.
"It doesn't take long for the greatest detective to solve a case does it?"
