Chapter 13
I said goodbye to Christan and nearly ran to practice. I saw Dimitri reading a book that looked loved. By that I mean it was beat up to where the cover had duct tape all over it. I walked over to him and tried to look over his shoulder. Which was hard since he was at least a foot maybe more taller then me. I sighed giving up. He looked up and set his book down. It was a country western novel.
"You're here a bit early." He told me.
"I just wanted to get here. In fact I practicly ran here."
"You ready to run some more?" He said handing me a set of clothes.
"Running? Aren't we going to work on like battle moves and stuff like that?" I asked taking the clothes.
"Stanima. Your stanima needs to increase. Now go get changed, quickly." I sighed and went to change. I went back to the gym and saw that I most likely would not be running alone. Rose was there and she was talking to Dimitri. I tried to eaves drop. I couldn't reach Rose's mind but Dimitri's was easy.
So what are we doing today comrade? Huh she calls him comrade, save that for later.
We're running.
Why? We haven't done that in a long time.
You need to increase stanima every now and then.
There's something you're not telling me. I stopped and walked to Dimitri. He turned around and looked a bit relived.
"What is she doing here?" Rose asked glaring at me.
"What does it look like?" I replied galring right back at her.
"It looks like you're going to leave before I make you."
"Go ahead I'm not scared of you."
"Rose, Evera stop. Now you will both have the same practices since I have decided to teach both of you." He looked at us, "Is that understood?"
"Yes sir Dimitri." I said not taking my sight off Rose.
"No problem comrade." She said before walking off to the track. I followed and stayed silent. Dimitri wanted us to run three miles. It was boring at first until I noticed that I was close to passing Rose on our last mile. I pushed myself harder and slowed my breathing. I was neck and neck with her. She saw this and started to speed up. I sped along with her and soon passed her altogether. It turned into a race to see who was faster. By this piont I wouldn't have been surprised if Dimitri joined us.
We only had one more lap to go and so far we had been next to one another. I closed my eyes and imagined myself as a super fast vampire and sped until she was a few feet behind me. Dimitri stood at the end with his stop watches. He held one and pressed a button as soon as I passed him. He did the same with Rose. i slowed and walked back and forth until I felt my heart slow. My breathing was something that could be dealt with later. I went over to ask how fast i was.
"You ran a 15:56," He told me before I even asked. "That's not bad at all. You can go change and get some rest. You have to get up early tomarrow." I nodded and jogged to the changing rooms. I got my stuff when I was done and went to find my dorm. It was in a building that looked like an apartment building. I saw that my bags where in the lobby and I carried them to my room. It was on one of the upper levels. The upper levels looked abanded. I found my room easily and placed my bags in the closet along with my backpack. I looked in the bathroom and saw that it had somethings that I would need already there. I decided to take a shower and then get some sleep.
