Chapter 3

I pulled up to the big reddish brown house made, on the outside, wood. I knew on the inside the color scheme would be blues and whites. It had been awhile since I had stepped in the house. The last time I was here I didn't leave it with such a happy memory. Again I looked down at my arms.

They were covered by jacket now but I could feel them like they where deep and new. My cousin Matt had the door open and was proceeding to taking the heaviest box inside. I got out and went to my old room. The posters from Twilight, one of my many obsessions at the time, were still in the places I had left them. My bed looked neater then a hotel but still had the feeling of being slept in. The house was chilly but nothing I couldn't handle. Colorado did that to you.

I grabbed a few books and left some old clothes that I would donate to those less needy. I walked out and went to the office. The computer was there and all its glory. I had written many things on there and met so many people on its slow internet. I still remember waiting till the dead of night just to use it because my grandparents took such a long to check emails. I left there and headed to the kitchen to grab one of many granola bars in the cabinets.

My cousin Matt came back from the garage and was holding a box. I gave him a confused look. "I need these things for school," he replied. I nodded and headed to the door.

"We should get going lunch is going to be soon." He went to the car first. I followed him and started the engine. I shifted it into gear and went down the dirt road that was like a roller coaster when I was little. No it was just a pain in the ass to drive down. But it was better taking the side road then backing up a billion times until I faced the road again. It was when I turned on the hair pin turn-why they call it that I will never know-, that looked nothing like a hair pin, that I my cousin spoke.

"Hey um can I stay in the house tonight and maybe tomorrow?" I normally would have looked at him with a confused look but I didn't take my eyes off the road. "Oh and I need to borrow one of the cars. Is that okay?"

"Okay now why would you need the house and a car?"

"Um well there was this girl and I kind of told her that I owned a whole house."

"But you do technically take her to one of those and you have an awesome car."

"Well see that's the funny part I told her it was in the mountains and that I owned a smart car."

"Now why would you tell her that? Oh that's right you were lost in her eyes." He opened his mouth to protest but closed it. "Yeah that's what I thought. Fine but you have to take me to my practice and drop me off."

"What are you serious?!"

"Do that and you get the house and car. Do we have a deal?"

"Fine I guess we do."

"Good now how about lunch?"

We arrived at the house just as the food was coming off the stove. Bach came running to me and I nearly dropped the books I held. Although one did fall and hit him on the head. Alex had just come down the stairs when it happened.

"Oh Bach are you okay? Did someone hit you with a book?" She looked at me trying to glare but failed epically.

"I swear it was an accident. But it was his fault anyway he ran into me first."
