Chapter 9

I got home late that night and kissed Derek agian. It yet agian felt amazing. The next two weeks flew by pretty quickly. I got used to my classes and teachers. I hadn't had any encounters with Dimitri and no personal problems ocurring. Maybe Kara was right maybe having a boyfriend was going to do so much more then i would have ever imagined. My senoir year would be my first year as being a normal person. Life, in short, was going on and was falling into place for my future.

It was Friday night and Derek and I were going to go see a movie at the little theatre in the town. I was excited to be going out with him again. So far we had had a total of five oficial dates. We had dinner at the pizza joint and then took a little walk through town. We decided to stop and check out the gem and mineral store. We adored the beauty of each gem and fossil. I took a look at the counter that held the jewlery. I was ready to buy the necklace that I had been looking at for weeks. But I searched the counters over and over agian. But it wasn't there. Derek soon came up behind me.

"What are you looking for?" He asked hugging me from behind.

"Nothing. I was just seeing if they had this necklace that I wanted," I sighed, "But of corse the time I'm ready to buy it they sell it."

"Oh a necklace you say?"

"Yep."

"Well could this necklace look a little something like this?" He told me holding it in my face. There it was the small silver chain with a saphire blue heart and dimonds sourunding it. I gasped having no words.

"How- how did you know?"

"The lady told me you've come in here a few times and just looked at it."

"Derek it's beautiful and it's even more beautiful coming from you." I held it in my hands studying it more closely now that it was out of glass case.

"Here let me help you with that." He took the chain and placed it around my neck. When he was done attaching it he moved his hands slowly down the chain. My heart raced and my skin lit on fire with his touch. He looked at it on me and nodded. "It suits you. You complete the necklace." I blushed at his comment.

"Thank you." I hugged him. The next words out of my mouth caught us both by surpise, "I love you Derek."

"I love you too Evera." With that he kissed me and held me close. The kiss didn't last long but it lasted long enough for me to keep on loving him. "We should probably go before the movie starts."

"Yeah I guess we should." We went to his car and drove to the theatre. There was a somewhat long line and i could hear that there was a lot more people in their seats already. I just mostly listened to other conversations. We eventually got to the ticket counter, piad, and got some popcorn. We got some seats in the back and waited for the raffle to finish and the movie to start. I scaned the crowd of people and didn't see Dimitri. I let my self relax slightly.

The movie was great. It was the latest action flick that everyone had been talking about. We hung out up stairs as others left. By the time we went down the stairs only the volenters where left and a few kids waiting for their rides. The parking lot was empty. When we got to his car he blindfolded me. It was another one of his surpirses. I felt the car start up and the curve of the road he took. We stopped soon and he lead me out. I was about to take the blindfold off when his hands stopped mine. I was going to ask him what was going on but I felt him put a finger to my mouth and shush me. i smiled and let him lead me to where ever we where going.

I heard the different sounds of the ground as we walked. At first it was a hard sound as if we where on asphalt but it slowly changed to a soft almost mute sound as we walked in the forest. Then we stepped on a ground that seemed familiar but could not place a memory to. He soon stopped us and took off my blindfold. I looked around and saw that we where on the shore of the lake. It was about as close as we got to a beach. there was a blanket there with two pillows. I stepped out of the dark forest to the silverey white lake. I was once again speechless. Derek sat down on the blanket and patted the spot next to him. I smiled and took the seat next to him.
