Chapter 3

Nandini's pov

I moved here because chacha chachi got a new job here but the thing is they are never home, they are flying in and out so there was no point of me moving here except that they said this is a gated community so it's safer which I do agree with.

It's the second week of classes, it has been nice but manik got gussa that second day but then again im not sure why. I agree that I do not know where he is coming from or what he has dealt with so I am not gonna push him.

One thing I have noticed is his eyes are so dull and bland, its like he is on autopilot and depleted of any emotions. Whereas cabir is the complete opposite of him, he is fun and very quick to repond but manik takes his time and thinks about his words before he speaks

It's like if he says one wrong thing an earthquake will hit or soemthing, he is so cautious of everything he says. I have had only that one conversation with him in class when cabir was there too but after that I didn't talk to him.

I saw him everyday in class but he seemed like he hated talking to me so I didn't want to initiate a conversation. However I did talk to cabir since he gave me his number so we talk on a regular through texts which mostly contain chemistry stuff and Manik's moods haha

I was flipping through my notebook trying to study for this upcoming mock midterm which was in a couple days when I saw manik's curtains opening. Oh I forgot to mention, his room is visible from mine, which is a bad thing cause something I will walk around in just shorts and a bralette or something since im alone 99% of the time.

I looked up to see him sitting on his bed while cabir was standing on the window, seeing me he waved his hand to come closer so I got up and leaned don the edge of the window

"Hi cutie" he said

"Hi cabu"

"I well we need your help" he said

"Yes sir what can I do for your majesty" I said bowing and he chuckled while manik shook his head

"Two things but can you come over here" he said and as if sensing danger or something manik lifted his head

"No she can't come here" he said

"Umm you guys can come here I don't mind, chachi chacha won't be back for I think a few weeks anyways so ya. Wait do either of you have weapons cause im alone and I can't fight tall humans like you and especially this monster"

"No we do not" cobir laughed

"Can I make you guys pizza" I asked and cabir nodded while manik pretended like he wasn't a part of this conversation which he wasn't I guess I don't know

"We will come over in 10"

"Sounds good, the door will be open for you"

"Keep it locked until we get there" manik said

"And the monster speaks. As you wish my lord, knock twice for good luck" I said winking at him and walking down to the kitchen

Like they said, 10 minutes later I heard two knocks making me smile. I opened the door and cabir pushed me aside running in while manik followed with his notebooks. I closed the door and walked to the kitchen to get them soft drinks

"Here you go" I said and cabir took one but manik didn't

"Manik"

"Im good" he siad

"Kis kam ki yeh body agar tum coke na piyo toh" I said and he took it

"Good job baby" I said and he glared at me

"I will hit you if you call me that" he said and I leaned down to him

"You wouldn't" I said and cabir smirked while Manik just glared at me

"Leave him, Nandini I need your help"

"Yes, what kind of help? Do you need help burying someone or killing someone cause I can do both but I can't lift a body"

"Im sorry what" he asked and Manik looked at me like he had seen a ghost

"What?" I asked being confused

"You are crazy" cabir said and I smiled

"I know, what do you need help with" I asked

"So there is this umm okay I well"

"He likes a girl and wants her number" Manik said sitting back and opening his notebooks

"Mai bol raha tha na" cabir said smacking his arm

"What girl" I asked knowing who he is talking about and he blushed a little

"Oh my gosh cabir you are so cuteee" I said pulling his cheeks while Manik rolled his eyes at us

"Stop it" caber said making me laugh

"Is it navya" I asked and he looked shocked

"What? I have seen you looking at her, do you really think I didn't know that you came in my class just to talk to me, I knew it was for her" I said and he smiled

"I like her a lot"

"Well great for you because I think she may like you too"

"Really" he asked and I nodded

"Shit my pizza" I yelled running into the kitchen

Thankfully it didn't burn, I took it out and sliced it. I even made garlic bread for us. I took the food outside to find Manik concentrating on something, I wonder if it's biology because I have not even started the project, oh we are partner just so you know and it's not bad. This is our first project so im nervous.

"Ahh food, thank you nandini" cabir said

"Hehe your welcome" I giggled sitting down on the table infront of them and crossing my legs

"Nandini" I hummed eating

"Manik also needs your help" cabir said

"Umm hmm im aware, what is it" I asked

"Chemistry" he said and I smiled, it's one of my favourite subjects

"Manik" he looked up from his notebook

"What"

"Arey baba mai konsa tumhara khana lai rahi hu pyar sai bolo na"

"Thapad khaogi" he asked

"Agar pyar sai marogai toh waise chi thapad sai dar in lagta sab pyar sai lagta hai" i said and he shook his head

"Acha sorry bolo kya Hua"

"I don't get this stupid set of questions and im sure it's on the exam. Cabir gets it but he is terrible at explaining" he siad and for the first time I felt like he had this emotion in his eyes

"Okay let me see" I said grabbing his notebook

I looked at the question and then at his work which all looked right so I grabbed his calculator and did the math again but it gave me the same answer so I grabbed his phone from his hand

"Excuse you"

"Sorry" I mummbled using the calculator on his phone

"Aha" I said grabbing his notebook and sitting beside him

"You have everyhting right, jus keep the decimals and use a different calculator"

"Thats it"

"Yup" I siad and he nodded getting back to his work
