IN THREE DAYS TIME, ROBB, JON AND HIS companions were on their way back to King's Landing. Though it was painful for Robb to part from his now wife so soon, they promised each other that it would be worth it once everything was revealed in King's Landing.
Once it was revealed that they were now man and wife, they were certain that peace would ensue. After all, Daenerys would never attack King's Landing with her niece there, and Robert would be willing to negotiate terms of peace.
It was in this hope for peace that made it possible for the lovers to separate themselves after their final goodbye. Rhaenerys rode Rhaegar back to Dragonstone to prepare while Robb rode to King's Landing.
He did not immediately disclose their marriage to anyone, for it was agreed that they would wait for the proper time. But there were something about him, something that everyone could see. The pure joy on his face, and the way he moved as if he had just been gifted a star from the gods.
There was something in the way that he talked as well that made Catelyn uneasy. She knew something was up the minute her son arrived back glowing brighter than she had ever seen him before. But this was not a happy glow. At least it did not seem that way for her. To her it seemed more like guilt, but there was nothing she could do for there was nothing she could accuse him of.
The following days were filled with anxiety for both Robb and Rhaenerys. The pair could not wait to see each other again, and Rhaenerys ran into to some difficulty when Daenerys announced that she would still be marrying Zhilli Haggo.
And of course, Rhaenerys already knew this, but what Daenerys didn't know was that her plans for keeping the Dothraki would not be in effect for much longer. Once the Targaryen's joined forces with Robert Baratheon to defeat the white walkers, Robb and Rhaenerys' marriage would be revealed, and therefore it would be deemed illegal for Rhaenerys to be married to another man.
She for one could not wait. She had grown sick of the man as ever since they had gotten back, he had been insufferable. He constantly followed her around and would brag to his comrades that they would be married. He made disgusting comments towards her and she could see by the look in his eye that he thought about nothing but defiling her body.
It was disgusting, but Rhaenerys could do nothing except for sit and pretend that it didn't bother her. She had to pretend that she did not want to send Robb to gauge his eyes out, for she knew her beloved would if he heard of the way Zhilli Haggo was speaking about her. She had to pretend and she wasn't sure how much longer she could play ignorant but thankfully the day that she could break her act arrived for her soon enough.
On this day, everyone took a ship to Kings Landing while Rhaenerys and Daenerys took their dragons.
In the meanwhile, Robb sat by the King's side with his father, the same way he did the very first day he met Rhaenerys. Except for this day, his mother was not there to scold him, and he was free to scour the skies looking for his beloved, waiting for her arrival.
