The Sound of Silence

Chapter 3

"Mom! Dad! We're here!" Juliana yelled while walking through the front door.

"Okay!" Julianas mom yelled back

Juliana took her jacket it off and put it on the coat rack and yelled "Mom we'll be in my room!"

"Ok bye" Julianas Mom responded from the kitchen.

"Let's go." Juliana said while gesturing towards the stairs.

Once they got in her room they sat on her bed and pulled out their stuff for the project

"Hey I'm not trying to be weird or rude or anything but is your mom always that like careless?" Kayla asked

"Oh u-uhm yea I've gotten used to it both of my parents are that way. I never know why but they hate people and they are really introverted I guess." Juliana said in kind of a sad tone

Juliana had never had normal parents. They had always been really careless about anything and everything. They almost act like she doesn't exist. I mean it could be because of what they are but Juliana is their biological kid and has never acted like them. Her parents often act like they have no feelings where as Juliana shows way more emotion then her parents ever have.

"Juliana? Hey Juli? Are yo ok?" Kayla asked in a worried tone

"Oh y-yea I'm ok sorry I just spaced out." Juliana said apologetically

"Ok are you sure? You were spacing out hard." Kayla said still kinda worried

"Yes I'm fine KayKay. Thanks. We should probably start the project now." Juliana said faking a smile. Juliana had a lot on her mind so she pushed it away to focus on the project.

A few hours later

"Oh it's already 5 o'clock I should probably get home." Kayla said while getting off the bed and putting her stuff in her backpack.

Juliana and Kayla walked down the stairs to the front door and Juliana opened it for Kayla and asked "do you want me to walk you home or no?"

"No, thank you though. I'll see you tomorrow?" Kayla asked

"Yea see you tomorrow." Juliana said while waving at Kayla while she walked away and then shutting the door and returning to her room.

Kayla got to her house about 10 minutes later and opened the front door and walked right to her room.

She put her stuff away and sat down on her bed and turned on her TV. For some odd reason she wanted to see what was on the news so she watched the news.

(The news) BREAKING NEWS!! Vampire family spotted in our town today! This is what the kid looks like but we are unaware what the parents look like or if this creature has siblings of any kind! *shows picture of Juliana* if you capture this monster without being turned into one of her kind you will be rewarded greatly!

Kayla switched off the TV and stared into space with her mouth open in pure shock. What was she going to do??
