The Sound of Silence

Chapter 5

"And that's out presentation on vampires." Juliana finished and looked towards the class.

"Very good kids!" Ms Brown walked up to the front of the class "give a hand for Kayla, Micha, and Juliana guys!" She said as the three kids sat back down in their seats and the other students clapped their hands. The bell rang signaling the period had ended.

"Ok kids grab your things-" the teachers voice was drowned out by the sound of chairs and the voices of students.

"Well we definitely got an A" Micha ran up to Kayla

"And when you say 'we' you mean Juliana and I?" Kayla corrected

Micah rolled his eyes and smiled. "Yea yea whatever. My question is how lucky were you to be paired up with" she lowered his tone of voice "Juliana the vampire"

"KAYLA! MICHA! WAIT UP!" Juliana ran down the stairs to meet up with her friends

"And look there she is" he huffed and crossed his arms

"Hey I was wondering if you guys wanted to go to the melting pot?" She asked and tugged or her backpack straps

"I'm down" Kayla shrugged

"Same" Micha smiled

"So let me get this straight, you moved here because you want a break from your crazy life where everybody treats you like your not a person?" Micha asked having just heard this information

"Well yea basically. I just wanna be able to enjoy my young life before it's too late ya know?" Juliana sipped her drink

Kayla looked at her phone and sees time, "holy crap I gotta go, uhm Micha can you walk me home since your house is nearby?" The girl stood up collecting her things.

Kayla dropped a piece of paper and Juliana noticed, "Oh you dropped this." She said kneeling down to grab it but at the same time Kayla knelt down to it as well.

Their hands both grabbed eachothers on the paper and they looked at eachother for a moment, would've been longer if Micha didn't interrupt.

"Ahem" Micha cleared his throat getting the pairs attention "I'm still here."

"Right uhm thanks" Kayla smiled and put the paper back in her backpack "bye" she gave her a little wave before leaving with Micha

That was an interesting scene." Micha smirked

"What are you talking about?" Kayla said clearly knowing

"You and Juliana obviously!" He shouted

Kayla sighed and her face turned pink just a bit

"Oh my god do you like her??" He asked Kayla

"Will you shut up people can probably hear you!" Kayla whispered

"Kayla you have a crush on a vampire???"

"Micha" Kayla whispered aggressively

"What? She's cute though so I don't blame you. Plus I saw the way she looked at you earlier." Micha nudged Kaylas shoulder

"What do you mean?" Kayla asked oblivious.

"Bro?! Juliana definitely likes you too no doubt about it." Micha responded

"No way! She probably so many other girls/boys in her dms anyway." Kayla laughed trying to shake the feeling that she did indeed have a crush on Juliana.

"Mhm" Micha hummed sarcastically

"I'm serious Micha she can't like me" Kayla held her hand up to her chest

They came upon Kaylas house and the girl sighed "I'll see you later Micha" Kayla opened her front door and walked inside.

"See ya" Micha walked away

Once Kayla got inside the question inside her head wouldn't go away "Does Juliana actually like her back?"
