Kayla sat in the corner of her room crying into her knees with her right hand comforting her right cheek, which was red from a slap.

Why me? Kayla thought to herself

"Who was that girl you just came home with Kayla?" Her mother yelled from her current position on the couch.

"Nobody she's just a friend." Kayla tensed up seeing her mother stand up walking towards her.

"Do friends kiss one another on the cheek?" Now her mom was closer

"No but-"

Slap

"No buts! You will not see her again!" Her mother yelled

Kayla sprinted up the stairs to her room and locked the door. She melted down and sobbed.

I have to leave. Kayla stood up and put a little backpack together and opened her window.

She's used to unexpectedly some nights.

She hopped onto the roof that slanted down to her front yard.

Once she made it down she ran to the only person she could think of.

Juliana.
