Kayla knocked on Julianas door hastily come on answer the door man she thought in her head.

Just then the door opened and there she was.

"Oh hey Kayla" Juliana smiled brightly

Due to the dim light she couldn't see Kaylas red cheek

"Uhm can I stay here?" Kayla asked holding back her tears of frustration

"Uh sure? My parents aren't home though, they won't be home till Tuesday, I don't know if they'd let-" Julianas sentence was cut by the sounds of Kaylas faint sniffles

"Wait are you ok?" Juliana asked worriedly

That was enough for her to breakdown, but she tried not too. Not in front of the girl

"No I'm not ok" Kayla wiped her eyes

"Geez I'm sorry uh yea come in." Juliana opened the door wider to let the weak girl inside

Kayla shakily sighed once she stepped inside

"Here's my room down there, I'll get you a glass of water." Juliana pointed down the hall to a door.

Kayla nodded and walked down the hall.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you Kayla." Juliana rubbed the girls back comfortingly.

"It's fi-" before the girl could finish Juliana cut her off.

"No it's not fine Kayla. Your mother hit you!" The girl stood up and ran her fingers through her hair frustrated. "Why don't you move in with Micah? Then you won't have to deal with your mom" she asked

"She's still my mom Juliana. Plus" Kayla sighed "I already tried. It's no use. My mom knows where I am." Kayla sank her head into her hands supported by her knees. "My dad was never really around to witness it, plus my mom has him wrapped around her little finger, he wouldn't believe me."

"You could stay here" Juliana mumbled under her breath

"What was that?"

"Never mind, look I'm here for you alright?"Juliana sat back down next to the girl pulling her into an embrace.

"Thanks Juli." Kayla managed to laugh which made Juliana smile.

"You should laugh more often Kayla. I like it" Juliana grinned down at the girl

"Stop it." Kayla nudged Julianas side lightly.

"You can stay here for the night if you'd like? I mean as long as my parents don't know we'll be fine right?" Juliana laughed

"Right." Kayla laughed too

Kayla lay wide awake on her back facing the ceiling.

Juliana gave her no choice but to sleep on her bed. Kayla said she didn't have to but Juliana insisted.

Juliana however was passed out in the sleeping bag on the floor.

Kaylas cheek still stung and her eyes were still red from crying.

"Juliana?" Kayla whispered softly

No response

"Juliana?" She whispered a little louder

Juliana grumbled in her sleeping bag.

"Juli?!" She flung a pillow down at her

"Ow! I'm up." The girl sat up rubbing her eyes

"Can you uhm." Kayla didn't know how to say this without sounding like a complete weirdo.

"Can I what?" Juliana whispered back

"Come here? Like uh, next to me? Sleeping?" The dark setting hid the pink forming on Kaylas cheeks

Little did Kayla know, Julianas stomach filled with butterflies at that question

"Oh." Juliana muttered out "sure I mean- yea if you want me too- I don't wanna make you uncomfortable or anything- I can"

"Juliana!"

"What?!"

"It's fine" Kayla moved over to the side of the bed to create room for Juliana on the other side of the bed.

Juliana got into the bed and both the girls stared up at the ceiling.

"Goodnight." Kayla said quickly and turned over so her back was facing Juliana

"Night" and Juliana did the same
