The house was silent as everyone waited in anticipation.
On the wooden table Draken had crafted, a cloth was spread out, holding the egg. It was slightly larger than a normal chicken egg, with fragments of the shell scattered around it.
Takemichi wore a worried expression, Draken observed both him and the egg with a troubled look, while Mikey seemed lost in thought.
After two and a half hours of silence, Mikey broke it with a question that made Takemichi want to punch him.
"Um... Ken-chin, Takemitchy... Why is the egg taking so long to hatch?" he asked with a whine, clearly bored.
Draken and Takemichi both ignored Mikey and continued to focus on the egg.
Takemichi's mind was racing with worry. He tried to stay calm, but anxiety overwhelmed him.
"Takemitchy, don't worry. I'm sure the egg will hatch safely," Draken said, placing a comforting hand on Takemichi's back.
