Two Days Later
Takemichi sat quietly, his heart heavy with sadness. It had been two days since he found out that Mikey and Draken had to leave for the entire cold season. The news had hit him hard, and the silence in the cave felt even colder than the approaching winter.
None of them had seen it coming.
Not even Mikey or Draken, who were usually prepared for anything.
That night, they returned to the cave looking completely drained, their eyes hollow and their bodies weighed down by an invisible burden.

As soon as they stepped inside, Mikey went straight to Takemichi and pulled him into a tight hug, his usually strong and carefree demeanor replaced by an almost desperate need for comfort.
Takemichi didn’t need to ask. The way Mikey clung to him, like a lifeline, said more than words ever could. He could feel the tension in Mikey’s body, the weight of whatever decision had been made hanging over them like a storm cloud.
Draken, too, stood nearby, his broad shoulders sagging in a way that made him look much older than he was.
It was the worst day of their lives, and Takemichi could tell.
The crushing realization that they would have to leave him—leave everything behind for a while—was tearing them apart.
The reason for their departure was simple but devastating: a massive gang problem had arisen, one that couldn’t be ignored, no matter how much they wished otherwise.
Normally, Mikey or Draken would just send one of their higher-ups to handle the situation.
They had people they trusted for this sort of thing, and usually, they didn’t have to get directly involved. But this time was different. The threat was too big, too dangerous, and Mikey had no choice but to agree to go himself. It was either that or risk losing everything they’d worked so hard to protect.
That’s why they returned to the cave looking so lifeless. It wasn’t just exhaustion; it was the dread of what lay ahead.
Baji and Seishu had been just as confused as Takemichi when the two walked in like ghosts.
