"What the fu- what the fuck was that?!" I barely managed to breathe. I was starting to hyperventilate, I could feel myself getting ready to be sick again. I looked into Cody's eyes, his pupils were dilated. Beads of sweat were forming above his furrowed eyebrows, his hand slowly went to his mouth as he started heaving. Jonathan was no better either, his hazel eyes were darting around the room. "Was that Mr. Williams?" I asked.
"It was," said Jonathan, wiping his bloodied hands on his tattered jeans. There was a red blot underneath his white shirt, presumably blood. "Josie Gillingham started attacking Mrs. Radcliffe while her back was turned... She went crazy; everyone started screaming when Mrs. Radcliffe attacked Josie's brother in the front row... She looked like an animal, her eyes were pitch black..." He shuddered, coughing a little. "Look, we need to get out of here. Cody, do you have your car?" Jonathan asked. Cody was 18 this year, meaning he had a license before us, we were a year younger.
"Yeah, it's at the front parking lot. What should we do?" Cody replied, taking his keys out of his pocket. I could tell he was panicked.. I mean, who wouldn't be after your teacher tries to rip your flesh off?
"Okay, good." Jonathan sighed. "Do me a favour, next time take my advice when I text you." We both nodded.
"Over there, the black one." Cody pointed over towards the little black Ford Fiesta. It had just started to rain as we left the main school building, it looked dead outside. "Where to?" Cody asked.
"My parents are on vacation. Alex?" Jonathan looked over at me on the backseat.
"The folk are at work." I lied.
"Alright, Cody, shall we go to yours?" Jonathan suggested. Cody nodded and started the engine. We drove past overturned cars and dead bodies in the street. I had to duck down to avoid seeing a familiar face. What the hell is going on? Everything has just gone to shit without a warning.
