Oh god. I thought as I unbuckled my seatbelt from around my chest. I shot Jonathan a worried look and he did the same.
"Cody? What happened?" I said, rushing towards him. His unique eyes were terribly bloodshot and, he had traces of tears on his flushed cheeks. His skinny body was trembling. "Bro.. Are you okay? What happened in there?" I asked, looking for answers in his nervous eyes. Without saying a word, he collapsed on me as we both fell on the cold concrete floor. I held his body as he sobbed on my shoulder, his dyed red hair was knotted and everywhere. As I hugged him, I stroked his back to comfort him.
"Sh- She's... Dead." He cried. His sobs were getting heartbreakingly loud and his body trembled more. I looked up to Jonathan who seemed to be scratching his wrist.

We huddled inside the cold house and locked the door, I sat Cody down in the crème sofa. "How did she die, Cody?" I asked, my arm still wrapped around his drooped shoulder. He rubbed his running nose on his black sleeve.
"Matt fucking-" he paused, closing his eyes to stop the tears. "He fucking ate her, Alex! My own fucking step dad!" He jumped out of his seat and punched a wall. "My mum is dead because of that... That..." His knuckles were swollen and red. "That bastard!" He screamed, warm tears flooded his cheeks as he sunk to the dirty carpet. His head was in his bloodied hands, he was shaking it in disbelief and anger.
Composing himself, he took a deep breath. "She said she was bitten." He said, his sad eyes staring into mine.
"Bitten? What do you mean? Is that bad?" Jonathan asked, peeking from the kitchen into the living room. His black cargo pants and white shirt were dirty and covered in splotches of blood. Black hair was spiked out of his face which somehow remained neat. Must be a good hair gel.
"Yeah. Bitten. She said that there was no point taking her to a hospital because she was bitten. She asked me to kill her." His eyes were filling with tears again.
"She isn't in pain anymore, Cody." I said, hopefully comforting him. He nodded and looked down.

"Well," Cody said, slowly rising from the sofa he was laying on. "It's getting pretty late, we should probably get some sleep; its been a long day." His red eyes looked tired and irritated. His freckles stood out on his pale skin. "Dude," he said, looking at me. "You can crash on the bottom bunk. Johnny, I have a spare mattress somewhere, I'll sort it out for you mate." Slowly, he walked up the stairs sleepily. Me and Jonathan moved his mom's and his step dad's bodies outside to stop Cody from getting distressed again. It was disgusting, their pale, sickly faces were bloodied and torn. They had two jagged holes in their head, presumably their cause of death.

After a while, me and Jonathan went upstairs to finally get some rest. I couldn't sleep at all that night.
