"You seem like your in a good mood?" Camryn looked taken back as her son beamed back at her instead of rolling his eyes."I am.. Mason and I went to visit Ana today.." Milo avoided his Moms eyes as he looked to the sushi being placed in front of him by the waitress.
"Really? Hunny.. that's really great!" His mom hurriedly grabbed at his hand on the table, giving it a squeeze. Tears were welling up in her eyes as she felt a sense of relief for her son. He had been going through something lately and it looked like he had finally started climbing out of the darkness he was in.
"How is she doing?"
"Really good actually.. The treatments have been super successful. Apparently they caught it at the best time. They're saying she could be in remission by the end of the year.."
"Oh that's so wonderful, I've been praying for that family. She's just so young to have to go through something like this." Camryn shook her head as she popped a spicy tuna roll in her mouth.
"She's strong and brave.. like you." Milo's voice wavered as he thought back to his mom own battle with cancer. Stabbing a piece of sushi with his chopsticks he again ignored his mothers watery stare.
The thought that he had treated her so terribly in the last couple months had been eating at him a lot lately. He loved his mom. She literally was his number one, always.. but after having to come back home and move back in due to the pandemic. Having to spend so much time with her due to quarantining and everything being closed, it was a lot on him.
It made him start to resent her. He was supposed to be an adult but as soon as Covid-19 hit he was thrusted right back into his teenage life.
It wasn't fair."This was nice sweetie." Camryn hugged her son tightly as they said there goodbyes in the courtyard leading to her back of her house.
"It was, I missed seeing shows with you." He really did.
"Im just so happy your happy living on your own.. Even though I also hate it because my baby boy is growing up!" She smacked her lips against his cheeks making him laugh as he pretended to push her away.
"I'm always going to be your baby Cammy.. Goodnight Ma." Milo laughed before kissing his mom on the cheek. As he walked out the gate he gave one last little wave before getting into his car.
Today was a lot, almost draining but he was happy he actually went through with all of todays plans. Even if he was super hungover this morning.
Ana and him caught up and got some stuff off their chests.
The sushi and musical with his mom was even better then he expected. He was just happy he was finally able to do some of the stuff he hadn't been able to in months.
Turning his car on he yawned, turning onto the road as he started his drive home.
As he merged onto the highway he looked at the exits. Carson's house was only ten minutes away but today was suppose to be her day off.
His hands gripped the steering wheel tighter as his thoughts drifted to the idea that maybe Gavin was at her place... or maybe she was at his.
After a few seconds of drumming his fingers against the wheel he cursed, swinging his car to the right and taking the exit for Carson's.
Mason said you should talk to her..
Maybe todays the day.
