"Oh.." Gavin nodded, shoving his hands into his pockets. "No problem damn I don't know how you put up with that kid. I could never do your job.." He tried to make light of the situation but he really didn't know the half of it.
"It's a roller coaster.."Carson ordered an Uber but instead of her address she sent herself somewhere else.
She wasn't sure what she was looking for exactly but she had some liquid courage in her veins and was highly unsatisfied with her night. She had more questions than answers, which if you knew Carson. She hated not having answers.
So that's how she found herself here, outside Milo's apartment a little after midnight.
"What the fuck am I even doing.." Muttering under her breath she still found herself knocking. Silence fell around her as she put weight from heeled toe to heeled toe.
After a couple minutes she frowned. There was no way he could be in bed... he always stayed up.
It was part of why he was so grumpy in the mornings.
Using her knuckles she smacked them against his door yet again.Another round of lingering silence fell around her and she suddenly was wondering if he was even home?
Was he out?!
Did he go out with someone?
Her stomach suddenly felt like it was tying itself in knots. She fumbled with her phone, knowing she had his location incase of emergencies but before she could get to the find my friends app the door in front of her swung open.
"Car?" His voice was deep, full of sleep as his eyes squinted into the lit hallway. Carson swallowed hard, her eyes taking in his barely clothed state before fighting to meet his now curious eyes.
"Carson w-what are you doing here?" Milo peeked into the hallway as if he was looking for someone else.
"C-can I come in?" Her voice seemed small all of a sudden and he felt a twist in his gut."What happened?" He grabbed her by the hand, tugging her into his dimly lit apartment. His big hands rushing to cup her face once his door was shut. "I swear to god if that dick—-" He was looking her over, not even sure what he was looking for. All he knew is if he found a single mark on her or found out Gavin made any unwanted advances he would literally go ballistic.
Before he could finish his sentence or his inspection as he tilted Carson's chin she cupped the back of his neck and pushed forward on her tip toes. Her heels giving her the needed height in order to lock her lips against his.
At first he froze.
His hands falling from her face as he was knocked off balance. Luckily for both of them he stumbled against the counter, gripping it hard while his other arm wrapped around Carson's waist.
Their lips parted from one another as they tried to steady themselves. Carson flushing pushing her hands against his chest as she realized what the hell she just did but Milo didn't budge.
"Car.." His brown eyes searched hers, their harsh breaths puffing against each others lips as they continued their stare off. "Don't."
Carson's eyebrows pulled into confusion as he shook his head, his grip tightening around her waist.
"Please don't runaway.""I—I'm n-not." Her voice was as quiet as a whisper, stuttering from how weak she felt in his presence.
"We... We seriously need to talk." Milo began, his voice now hoarse. In his head it seemed clear. They needed to talk first before anything else happened between them. However it seemed like she could disarm him and send his thoughts scrambling with a single look. Her hooded eyes peered up at him from under her eyelashes and he swallowed, hard.
