Mick held onto the beagle, wiping the dirt off of its fur. He let it lick his helmet as he continued to look for any human survivors. As he was in the more dangerous part of the building he didn't think he would find anyone except dead bodies. Everytime there was just a body laying there he had to check its pulse and injuries. He had tapped his wrist too many times now, almost twenty. He hoped the others had better luck than him. When the beagle he had found started whining he supposed it was time to head back out. The building was unsafe and fragile. He clambered out of the mess and into a broken vent shaft to get out. It led him to a smashed window, which he hopped out of, clinging onto the puppy so it didn't have a rough fall. It wasn't too far for a human but it could hurt a dog. He landed on his feet and flicked his visor up to look at the dog. Mick felt tears streaming down his cheeks but he knew nobody else would be able to see. He flicked his visor down again and walked ack to where they said they would meet up. Nobody else was back yet so he just sat on the floor with the dog.
Seb had found one critically injured woman and got her out. He didn't go back in with Charles because he thought there wasn't a point. The German saw Mick and came over, the woman on a stretcher as the ambulance came. Though it made no noise or else it would attract zombies to their location. Charles was still in the building looking for survivors. The ambulance waited incase anymore people were found. Seb noticed the dog Mick had found and smiled beneath his helmet, scratching it by the ear. Beagles were pretty loud dogs so he hoped this one was well behaved if Mick wanted to keep it.
Charles was close to giving up, he couldn't hear anyone and everyone he found was already dead. Once he reached the core of the building he decided it was time to leave as it was staring to fall a part. He sprinted to the way out as the debris began crumbling behind him. His heart pounded as he ran for his life. He jumped out of the mess just in time. The Monegasque begged Mick wasn't still in there. Covered in mud, he returned to the group to find out one hadn't made it in time. He shrugged it off and returned to the shelter. The ambulance zoomed off before them. Charles walked beside Seb, Mick joined them whilst holding the puppy. The corners of his mouth twitched into a smile. He scratched it on the head with a gentle look. Seb smiled too and the puppy began wagging its tail.
"I think it is a girl, so I might call her Luna or Milka." Mick smiled, his eyes lit up whenever he looked at the dog.
"I don't mind what you call her Mick, just make sure she is trained for when we leave." Seb stifled a laugh, petting the beagle gently on the head.
