The wheels of the bus left a trail of dust as it rode on the dark grey road. In it was the bus driver who was really tired as he was driving for 8 hours. In there was also a young woman who was sleeping at the very back of the bus.
She was leaning her head against the window and the was some drool coming from her open mouth. Her bag in the seat next to her while her suitcase was placed underneath her feet.
*Beep Beep bitch! Wake up!*
A sudden noise came out of her bag which ultimately made the female wake up. She rubbed her eyes and then blinked a few times. She yawned as she reached into her bag to grab for phone to turn off the alarm. She looked outside the window and saw that she was near her destination.
The Uncanny Valley.
In the past few years she was always traveling around the world. She's been in Senegal, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, China, Russia and more. But she decided that she wanted to settle somewhere for longer. And thus she found a place with a relatively bizarre name but didn't think much of it.
And here she was now. After a long ride she was finally here.
The bus stopped and the door opened.
"We're here," the bus driver called out.
The blue haired female got up and dragged her suitcase with her to door. On her way out, she turned to face the driver and take out whatever there was in her pocket and give it to him.
"Here sir! Thank you for the safe ride!" She placed the continents of her pocked next to the steering wheel and walked out.
The driver looked at the supposed tip that she gave him. There were 5 cents, a bubble gum wrapper and an old bobby pin with some hair still in it. He just looked at it with tired eyes and sighed heavily. The doors of the bus closed and drove off.
Meanwhile, the young woman was already walking around the city. It didn't seem out of the ordinary when you look at it. It looked pretty average.
After some time of walking, she decided to sit down on one of the benches that were near by. As she sat down, she took out her phone and called a number. After a bit of waiting the other side picked up.
"Hello, Uncanny Valley apartment hunters, how can we help you?"
"Yeah, hi. I was just wondering if my apartment is ready."
"Which number?"
"420."
"Mhm...I'm afraid there's been some complications and it won't be ready until tomorrow. "
"What?!? Tomorrow?!? Where the hell am I supposed to go now?!?!"
"We're really sorry for the inconvenience, but we'll try to fix this as soon as we can."
The woman's eyebrow twitched in annoyance with a very displeased look on her face. Eventually she answered them through gritted teeth.
"...fine..!"
"Thank you for your cooperation. We'll call you as soon as the issue is fixed."
Then they hanged up.
The blue haired female still had the same look on her face from the phone call. She was pissed. Really pissed. She wanted to scream and shout on top of her lungs.
No no. You're better than this. She thought to herself.
She took a deep breath in order to calm down. She relaxed her shoulders and closed her eyes and try to put her mind at ease. She's as tranquil as the deep blue sea.
